“Make me,” she taunted. She knew that she was pushing his buttons, but he no longer mattered to her.

“You’re going to regret this, Maxine. You’ve outgrown your usefulness.”

“Never,” she smiled. “They all like me too much, and without Harlow, you’ve got nothing left.” He gripped her legs, pushing her knees open and down to the mattress.

“Oh, you stupid bitch. I have everything. Everything. And this will be the last time you ever see my face.”

Gripping the pillow, he covered her face as she squirmed beneath him. Driving in and out, he thrust harder and harder, intentionally trying to hurt her. When her screams became muffled cries, then silenced, he finally released inside her.

Standing, he stared down at her body. She’d been beautiful once. A long time ago. She’d been daring and adventurous, willing to do anything that he or Seth wanted. Often, she’d watch them together, giving them instruction. Now, he’d have to find a place to dispose of her body. He had the perfect location.

Perfect.

CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR

“Do we really believe the president is part of all this?” frowned Cam.

“It seems fairly obvious,” said Nate, shaking his head. “I’m worried about how much he knows. He might be the only person with the ability to locate us.”

“We’ve taken all the precautions, and we should be fine,” said Luke. “Besides, the stealth domes are holding and in place. We’ve done both plane and drone flyovers, and the tech team has even tested it against electronic interference devices. We’re as good as we’re gonna get.”

“Do you boys need us any longer?” asked Miller.

“No, Uncle Pierre,” said Luke. “Are you guys going back to your island?”

“Actually,” he smirked, “we’re headed up to the bike and tattoo shop. Callan and Grant finished the new office for Gray Wolf Security.” The older men were all smiling at their sons, grandsons, nephews, and others.

“That’s awesome,” nodded Luke. “How are you going to advertise?”

“We’re not really,” said Miller. “In fact, we’ve got a meeting this afternoon to meet with a few potential clients.”

“I’m really proud of all of you,” said Erik. “Our community is going to benefit from having all your experiences. We’ll be up later to see what the office looks like. Good luck.”

Watching as the seniors left, they could see their excitement in the way they walked. Cheerfully walking to the front of the property instead of taking one of the ATVs, this was exactly what they all needed.

“We should have thought about this sooner,” smirked Hex. “They just needed to feel useful. Maybe we should tell all the little kids now that we expect the same when the time comes.”

“Maybe,” nodded Luke. “For now, we need to focus on getting to the POTUS to see how he’s involved.”

“That might be easier than you think,” said Tanner. “I have the president on the phone now.”

Nate stared at the other men as Luke told him to patch it through.

“Mr. President, to what do we owe the pleasure?” asked Luke.

“I need to see you, Luke. You and all the boys. Not here in D.C. I need to be away from here. Tell me where you’re located, and I can be there in no time.” Luke stared at the other men, shaking his head.

“Sir, we can’t do that. We’ll meet you in a neutral location or in D.C., but we can’t give our location to anyone. You know that’s not how we work.”

“Listen, I understand your precaution, but Spencer Judge is out of control. His wife was found dead a few hours ago. She was tied to the back gate of the White House entrance. Naked.”

“Shit,” muttered Nate.

“We’ll come to you,” said Luke, nodding at Cam and the others. “We’ll use the usual methods to get into the White House. Make sure you’re alone, Mr. President. We don’t like being made fools. It’s not a good look for you or anyone else.”

“I promise, Luke. I’m not trying to fool anyone, but I’m also not sure who to trust any longer. I’ve got a state dinner tonight but can be available first thing in the morning. Can you be here by 0600?”

“We’ll be there,” he said. Luke ended the call, biting on his lower lip.
