After she slipped on a matching white, lace bra, she went to the closet and opened the door. Her voice echoed back to me once she stepped past the entryway. “I’m not sure what you have planned, Nick. Should I wear a dress?”

“Whatever goes best with your hair. But make sure you’re comfortable,” I said before adding, “and that it’s easy to get on and off.”

A loud laugh traveled through the air, making me feel a lightness I hadn’t experienced in a long time. “Gotcha loud and clear,” she said, still giggling as she spoke.

I couldn’t help but laugh at her.

When she stepped back out into the bedroom, I stopped immediately. “Is this okay? If not, I can change,” she said, twirling around, forcing the skirt on the yellow sundress to lift slightly. The yellow, rose print on the material caught my attention. As did how well it fit her shape.

Her unstoppable cleavage looked incredible. The dress hugged her chest in just the right way—giving a glorious show. “You’re beautiful,” I said, rising up from the bed and making my way over to her. “Does it come off easily?” I asked, my hands first touching her shoulders, then roaming down her arms.

She gazed up at me with a smirk on her face at the same time she undid the belt that wrapped around her tiny waist. The material went slack, and she pulled it further open, displaying her magnificent body.

My eyes stayed stuck to her breasts, desiring, and considering a quickie before we left on our errands.

But I knew myself.

A quickie wasn’t something I wanted with Cherry.

When I got her back into bed, I was going to need a very long time.

And what we had to do right now was actually more important at the moment.

The time for fun would come later.

“Perfect. Shall we go?”

“I’m not going backin there, are you crazy?” she said, nearly stomping her feet on the tile.

It nearly made me laugh out loud to see her so defiant. “I’m not. And yes, you are going back in there,” I said, pulling her along behind me.

Again, she dug in her heels—literally. “Nick, I can’t. Stop, please? Don’t make me go inside again.”

The tone of her voice nearly broke my heart when I heard it. I stopped and turned around to face her. “They had no right to treat you the way they did. We’re going to talk to the powers that be, and fix this.”

A look of supreme terror covered her expression. “No, please don’t,” she begged, her voice cracking as she spoke.

This time my heart did break.

And it pissed me off even more.

Not Cherry—none of this was her fault.

The asshole clerks who made her feel like she was worthless.

My hands slid around her waist, and I pulled her close. “I’ll be there the entire time. I promise,” I said, looking into both of her scared eyes as I continued, “I promise to stay with you. These people can’t get away with what they did.”

“Yeah, they can, and they did,” she blurted out, looking nervously at the store window.

This young, beautiful woman in my arms was terrified to go back into a fucking store. These assholes had convinced her that she was worthless. I could feel the blood coursing through my veins even faster now. I wanted to strangle every one of the staff.

But, I’d settle for their apologies.

I lowered my voice and nearly hissed as I spoke, “I know you don’t understand who I am.” I felt a gnawing pain in my stomach. “But how you were treated yesterday? That doesn’t happen to anyone close to me. Do you get me?”

She gazed back at me with a frown on her face. “No, I don’t ‘get you’, Nick. Not at all. But please, drop this? Can’t we just order the clothes online or something?” she asked, trying to push away from me. The desperation written all over her face only stirred the embers of my anger.

My hands clasped her upper arms and I jerked her toward me. “No. You have just as much right to spend money in that store—” I said, my head nodding toward the door, “or any of these stores.” I leaned in and whispered directly into her ear, “They fucked up, Cherry. Now they need to pay.”
