After two days of not hearing from Eleanor, I needed my friend.Leaning against the headboard of my bed, I picked up my phone to text her.

Eleanor:
She can have visitors as of tomorrow.She’s doing okay.
Can Wyatt visit?
My phone rang.“Hey, I’m pretty sure he can, but I’ll call and check,” Eleanor informed me.
“I mean,shouldhe, though?Am I fucking this kid up even more?”I ran my hand through my hair.
“He’s a tough kid.I’m sure he misses her.He can handle it.”
“Ellie, things got so fucked up.”I kept my voice quiet.Wyatt was asleep, but I didn’t want to risk Candace overhearing.
“I know.But it’s going to get better.We just have to support her.”
“I did something stupid,” I confessed.
“More stupid than usual?”she laughed.
“I fucked the nanny.”
“Oh, hell on earth, Mason.What were you thinking?That girl is a baby!”
“She’s an adult,” I countered.Barely.
“Silas is here.Can I put you on speaker?You need more than just me.”
“Ellie,” I warned.
“Hey, Mason,” Silas greeted me.“Why are Len’s eyes about to pop out of her head?”
“Silas, how are you?”I asked.
Ellie piped up.“Tell him what you told me, Mason.”
“I fucked the nanny.”I scrubbed my hand over my face, completely mortified that I was having this conversation with my ex-wife and her boyfriend.
“Nice,” Silas said.“Ooof.What?He’s single.”
“She’s younger than Cee!”She said in disbelief.
“Is she over eighteen?”Silas asked.
“Yes,” I confirmed.
“Then good for you, man,” he said.I was starting to like this guy and it was a little weird considering he all but stole my wife.
“She’s gonna quit on you.Why the hell would you do that?”Eleanor jumped in.
