He rolled his eyes. “Whatever, gorgeous. He didn’t seem all that shocked.”

“Sadly, he knows me too well to be shocked.”

The group of us gathered around the rented bus the band was calling home for the next month. “A step up from the vans, but fuck, I hate bus living,” Sergio announced.

Matteo and Tom had never been on tour via bus, so I wasn’t alone in my need to explore the house on wheels.

From what I understood, it differed from the ones Sergio and Connor had used with their old band. This one slept nine. We had one hired driver, Ralph, who would switch off with others to drive when necessary.

When you walked in, there was a living room of sorts that held couches and a TV. A fridge, microwave, and sink were in the corner. There was a partition to the opposite side with three bunks and a bathroom. Past that were two sets of three bunks. They each had a curtain, giving the illusion of privacy.

I was glad they did not condemn me to ride this bus for an entire month. Things were going to get real on this bus way too fast. I mentally prepared for cranky band members in my future.

“I get a top bunk, bitches,” Sergio announced, throwing a backpack on one of the bunks.

Everyone else claimed a bed but me. Since I was only going to be there a few nights, it didn’t matter to me where I was, but I ended up between Sergio and Tom.

“Bunk buddies!” Sergio held a hand up to high-five.

“Seriously, are you a five-year-old trapped in an adult’s body?” I asked, raising a brow.

He laughed, “When you live in tight spaces like this, you come to realize it’s important to choose your space wisely.”

“Ew. I’m only here for three nights. I don’t need to be in the bed under you while you fuck your random chicks. Just wait for that shit until I leave.”

“Ah, don’t worry about that. I never take the chicks to the bus. First, that’s way too personal and second, I need more space so I can take care of a lady, you know?” He winked.

“Serge, you fucked me in a hotel bathroom. It wasn’t exactly spacious.”

“Yeah, but did you leave unsatisfied?” He raised an eyebrow.

I wanted to lie and tell him yes, but he knew better. “Did you?” I countered instead.

“Hell no. That shit was so hot! As I recall, I couldn’t help but keep you close until you bailed. I was ready to find a proper bed and all before that.” My mind flashed to the memory of sitting on his lap as his fingers brushed my wet panties. Down, girl.

“Sistas before mistas and all that,” I shrugged nonchalantly.

“Are you sure you’re taken?” Sergio plopped down on the floor in front of me as I sat on the couch scrolling through my phone.

“Quite. You met him.”

“What, he’s like ‘the one’ or something like that?” He used air quotes, giving me a suggestive look.

“Yeah.” I smiled, thinking about Eli.

“That’s it. Just ‘yeah’?”

Realizing this was going to be an in-depth conversation, I put down my phone. “I didn’t think I needed to elaborate.”

“I’m asking you to elaborate because I’m bored.” He let out a deep sigh.

“Already? It’s day one of touring.”

“Yes, already. Tell me about normal people's lives. How’d you meet him?”

“I’ve known him since high school.”
