"You'd be in?" I asked cautiously, not ready to get my hopes up.

I simply didn't know Kaden well enough to judge such statements. But I could read his sister's nod very well.

"We don't need your father's money for this. If we have a plan, we need people to participate in it. And we can find them all in this apartment."

"But we don't have a plan," I replied.

Kaia snapped her fingers in a quick motion before sitting up straighter. "The video is a promotion. A promotion that went viral to announce a new establishment. We call it 'Onohoni.' The sex parties at the resort are getting too dangerous, so we decided to do something new."

I just stared at her for a few seconds. "But it's not just about parties," I finally interjected. "It's a safe place for people who are interested in learning."

"How do you imagine it?"

Grinning, I shrugged. "There might be a class. 'Female dominance 101– with Kaia.'"

Kaden cleared his throat. "We'd better not discuss the schedule with family members."

"Sorry," I replied. "But it's an idea. It would also make headlines and reach a lot of people."

"It's an idea that we have to think through carefully before we act."

Kaden was not wrong.

People like Alexander were creatures of habit. Once they found a daily routine, they stuck to it. I knew this so well because I had once been one of those people. Things were different now, and my mantra of staying out of the drama was on the wane.

How could it be otherwise when someone came up with the brilliant idea of posting a recording of our sex life, which was supposed to be for a closed platform, on the Internet where millions of people could see it? This man had certainly never heard of consent, but I was less surprised that he felt so threatened by my existence in Audrey's life.

Maybe I should have handled him differently years ago. Bullied him a little and made it clear that I was firmly convinced Audrey deserved someone much better than him.

Unfortunately, there was no man out there who could meet my standards to satisfy this woman. Some days I didn't even believe I could meet those standards. But I worked on myself, learned from my mistakes, and always kept in mind what it was all about. Her happiness and nothing else.

No matter how much Alexander had done wrong, he stayed with Matt. Matt had no interest in neglecting his chosen successor.

He would rather continue to blame his daughter than admit to himself that he had bet on the wrong horse.

As I stepped out of the car in front of the villa, a sigh escaped me. This could only go wrong– and yet I would not leave this place until Alexander was more familiar with my fist.

I hurried up the stairs and was surprised when the door opened in front of me. Naomi looked at me with a serious look, but never in my eyes. So she had seen the video, too.

Because of Kaia's idea, which admittedly had some potential, we had put legal action against Alexander on hold for the time being. Which of course made the decision to greet him with a fist all the more attractive.

"Matt was expecting you to show up," Naomi finally said.

"But hopefully not on the assumption that I was on my way to meet him for a nice chat."

Ashamed, she shook her head. "This is about his call this morning, isn't it?"

"No. Although it's very telling how important his business is to him, Naomi."

"I heard you lost your job."

My eyes bored into hers as I walked past her into the foyer. "Do you think that is something I'm worried about?"

She was silent, which I guess gave me the right to sprint up the stairs to Matthew's office. The door was ajar, so I pushed it open, only to find that my initial assumption had been correct. Matthew was in the company of Alexander, which made things a lot easier for me.

With three big steps I was in the middle of the office, grabbed Alexander by the collar and shoved him against the nearest wall.
