“I want to do it,” Tommy, Ryder and Marissa’s son, shouted. “Mom’s having another baby!”

“See, Tommy understands the way it’s got to be done here,” Ryder said, giving his son a high five.

There was a lot of laughter and a ton of questions directed at Marissa.

“I feel fine,” Marissa said. “Yes, this was planned. I’m only a few weeks behind Raina. Sorry about that.”

“Don’t be sorry,” Cody said. “This is great. Mom and Dad are going to love it.” Cody hugged his older sister and kissed her on the cheek, then shook hands with Ryder.

“We told them this morning,” Marissa said. “Mom is thrilled.”

“They were talking about moving,” Cody said. “When we told them Raina was pregnant.”

Ryder grinned. “Yeah. They brought it up again. We’ll talk more about it later.”

Elise figured if there was a way to get Marissa’s parents here, Ryder was going to make it happen. She’d do the same with her father too if she had to.

“Well, that was entertaining,” she said to Chloe.

Most moved off, but she was left with Megan, Jonah, Trent and Roni, along with her brother and Chloe. The same group minus Raina and Cody, who were talking with Ryder and Marissa and Ryder’s family.

“Normally there are engagements here,” Trent said.

“You missed mine,” Jonah said. “You’d have no clue.”

“Wasn’t by choice,” Trent said. “But Jonah was the second engagement here.”

“Who was the first?” she asked.

“Walker and Stella,” Chloe said.

“Guess the Fierces always need something to celebrate at these parties,” Gabe said. “Or some kind of action.”

“It seems it,” she said.

An hour later she was stuffed from the food and having the best time ever.

Most of the Fierces had made their way over to talk to them. Jim and Stacy spent some time with them too. She was chatting with her father.

It was probably the most she’d talked in her life but good-natured Gabe was the social one between them.

“Sorry it’s taken me so long to make my way over,” Grant said. “Normally I’m a better host, but I did talk to Gabe earlier.”

“It’s fine,” Elise said. “You’ve got a lot of excitement going on.”

There had been talk about Raina’s promotion, which many knew as a result of her graduating a few weeks ago. Then her pregnancy along with Ryder’s announcement and the talk about Kendra’s birth.

“What a day,” Grant said. “It’s so nice to see it all come together. Then you two. I thought it was going to be harder than it was. But, Gabe, he said he had it under control. Made it easier in a way once we saw what was going on.”

“What?” she asked.

She turned to look at Gabe and saw him frown and then look away.

Diane rushed over from where she’d been standing. “Grant, I need you over here.”

Diane all but pulled her husband away and was whispering in his ear.

“What was that about?” she asked Gabe.
