Byron paused his purring. “We will make up practice kits and practice. We have a few days.”

Denith muttered, “At least two. I have to get back to the restaurant tomorrow and I will practice.”

Teyval sighed. “Then, I will have to keep her occupied with a tour of the pack house.”

“I need my computer. If I have that, I can just park in a corner for days.”

Byron chuckled. “We will contact Nisha and make arrangements to get your possessions.”

“She will love that. Let her take pictures. She will probably want one of me and you guys eventually. She has a ton of people albums that she keeps evolving relationships in. She’s had one for me for years. So far, there are only a dozen pictures in it. The rest are on her phone,” she mumbled against Byron.

He chuckled. “Yay. An outing. You can’t go though. You don’t have clothes.”

She nipped at his collarbone. “I can wear the outfit I wore to the law office.”

He curled his fingers inside her. “They can be washed?”

“Sure. I am one hundred percent wash and wear.” She sighed, and hands rubbed her back and all the skin they could reach. They had really long arms.

Spending years writing books where alphas swept betas off their feet slowly and carefully, or quick and rough if the beta was into that sort of thing, she hadn’t appreciated the omega factors. Skin was more sensitive, her sense of smell was dramatically improved, and her hormones were roaring and urging her to act. She could ignore her hormones for a while. She had been doing pretty well so far.

Just before she dozed off, she muttered, “So, will you guys get tested for STDs?”

They paused, and then the caresses resumed. Teyval said, “Of course, we will. We want your mind at ease.”

She smiled and rubbed her cheek against Byron. “Yay!” She was about to doze off before she realized, “Oh, heck. The sun is up.”

Denith chuckled. “It is. But I have never woken up more rested or in a bed this crowded.”

Myrtle turned her head and smiled at him. “I doubt that. I have researched the restaurant industry, and it is a little freewheeling in general.”

He looked at her and sighed. “Fine. I have enjoyed myself.”

“And that’s your right, but now you get your body tested, so nobody here gets me sick. I don’t care where you have been, but if anyone gets me sick, I won’t forgive it.”

He nodded. “I understand that. Nothing to put you at risk.”

She nodded. “Good. Because if one of you has something and tries to touch me while I am in heat, I will give you a more advanced version of what I did to the Elite at the hospital.”

Byron asked, “Why so aggressive on this count?”

“STDs kill and maim infants every year. If the mother thinks her partner is faithful and he isn’t, she can’t take steps to get proper treatment. I also know that my sense of smell is going to get more focused, so anyone making a move without being a worthy parent for the maybe egg is going to get the shit kicked out of him with a lot of flailing and girly screaming.”

Teyval said softly, “I will teach you how to punch.”

Byron nodded. “Me, too.”

Denith frowned. “Not to be ungrateful for your knowledge, but that isn’t something that most are aware of.”

“Oh, I did some research with a blood clan in the mountains, and one of their friends had an omega who had to reject her favourite mate because he had gotten ruttish and jumped diseased bait.” She waved her hand. “It was complicated, but some folks had ideas about stealing that omega. They were stupid enough to think she only had the one alpha.”

Byron asked, “What was the result?”

“He missed her first heat with the pack and was allowed back in when he was clear.”

Denith nodded. “Point taken. Your senses can’t tell you when you are clear?”

“My senses have been online for about thirty-six hours. Right now, I have you sorted into cuddle, kiss, chaos, and cooking.” She chuckled. “I need at least a week before there are nuances as to your state of bacterial or viral infiltration.”
