“You can’t prove anything, bitch.”

Myrtle moved the hair off the woman’s face. “Mimicking an Elite omega is an impossible task.”

“I have done pretty well. He had no idea. He even bonded to me.”

Myrtle smiled. “That bond is gone. Look for it. Poof!” She flared her fingers in the air. “If he chooses you, that’s great. If he doesn’t, you are on your own.”

“Toros is mine. He pledged himself to me.”

“He pledged himself to a projection and nearly killed me. He was mine.”

The woman froze. “Was?”

“I have made alternative arrangements. Well, Toros, what do you think?”

The dark Elite shook his head and rubbed his forehead. “Teena, you lied to me?”

“No, my alpha. Of course not.”

“You know, if I could feel you, I may be able to believe you, but this woman severed our link. You look smaller than I remember.”

Teena scrambled and begged. “Toros. I am the woman you said you wanted.”

Myrtle blinked. “Really. You didn’t have sex?”

Toros said softly, “We had to wait for our third.”

“Well, that is slightly less skeevy. Also, she’s a beta without the slick glands, so you would have torn her up. Anyway. You never would have made it that far. She was bleeding our energies and killing me with slow efficiency. When I succumbed, you wouldn’t have been far behind.” She grinned at Teena. “Don’t worry. I talked to some Elite. You were a lovely decoy, and now that role is over. Your power is gone. Funding is gone. Protection is gone.”

Toros looked at her, and there was profound sorrow on his features. Myrtle sighed and patted his arm. She topped up his energies, and he jolted and looked at her. “You are my omega.”

“I was. Yes.”

He frowned. “Was? Why not? I am one of your mates.”

“I will discuss this when she is gone.” She shook her head. “You have attempted to kill our triad and fallen into the stronghold’s trap with pale hair and a pretty smile. We will discuss your future with my quad.”

The woman gasped, and that was it. Myrtle wrapped her life force around her hand, and she decked the little bitch. She grunted, lifted the unconscious beta by the back of her shirt, and walked out with her.

Bristling with fury, Myrtle carried her to the road, dumped her on the ground, and called her a car.

Teyval said, “What are you doing, Myrtle?”

“I can’t do portals, so I called her a car.”

Keres’ voice was grim. “I can use portals. Step aside.”

The woman groaned and held the side of her face. “What did you hit me with?”

Myrtle growled. “My fist. The next time I see you, if I see you, I am going to rip your life out of your body and scatter it to the wind, and then, I will find your family and destroy them. You participated in attempted murder. There has to be a bad seed somewhere. I am going to pluck it out. Enjoy the new face.”

She grinned as skin stained with crimson blood drops formed around the woman’s eyes. “That and your life are my gift to you. If they don’t fit, you can return them, but no exchanges.”

The woman looked at her and skittered backward. Keres picked her up by her arm and tutted. “You really picked on the wrong omega.”

A portal opened behind the woman, and Keres tossed her through it.

Myrtle was flexing her hands. “Why do I want to jump through that portal and rip her throat out?”
