“Oh, goodness,” she groaned.

I wasn't done yet, so I switched my pace. Her ass slapped against my dick with each thrust. It was a sight to behold. She turned to look at me as I continued thrusting. I leaned forward, kissing her lips while fucking her.

I was slowly losing my will to follow through with my original plan…and she was the reason.

After the kiss, her attitude changed. Not in a wrong way exactly, but in the sense that she had become more cheerful. The following day, I was walking on air. I couldn't explain it, but I was feeling extra good about myself.

Tabitha was no different; she was practically grinning the whole morning.

“I haven't seen her that happy in a long while,” Alex noted as he adjusted his glasses.

“The last time she was happy, what caused it?” I asked.

“That would be the time when one of her closest patients survived cancer,” he answered. “I wonder what could be causing it this time?”

“I also wonder,” I said, turning my attention to her.

She laughed at what one of the nurses told her. She turned and looked at me, flashing a smile, and continued her conversation with the nurse.

“You also look quite giddy,” Alex said. “What's your reason?”

“I have none. I guess it's just one of those days you wake up extra happy for no reason,” I answered.

“Is that so? Well, I wish you more days like this,” he said.

I had my first kiss. It's weird, I know. I've always avoided kissing because I felt it was something people on a deeper emotional scale should do. Every time I had sex, I made sure the guy didn't end up kissing me. It had continued that way, even with Bruce, until the moment I laid my heart before him.

I came to the office walking on air. Any time I laid eyes on Bruce, I would remember the kiss.

“I'm saying lunch isn't such a bad idea,” he said.

He was the source of my headache and a new doctor I had hired to help me out in the operating rooms. But rather than doing his job, he was a rough and stubborn little twerp. I had never had any issue making any man submit to my desire. Nevertheless, he did a perfect job of turning the tables on me every time.

Was I in love with him?

Heavens no: there was no way it was possible. There was still much I didn't know about him. I was supposed to guard my heart against men. While kissing him felt like summer, I still needed to lower my expectations.

It was almost the end of the day. I wanted to go to the superstore to get random things. Bruce noticed me leaving and decided to tag along.

“Come on, you're not going to argue with me about who will pay, now are you?” I asked as I caressed her hair.

Her cheeks flushed a shade of red. All of a sudden, she stopped, and her face became serious.

“Is everything okay?” I asked.

“Just shut up and follow me,” she said as she led me into the store.

“Oh? Looks like the stepmother's friend is here,” Tabitha said.
