“I remembered you were talking about being in Maryland and thought I'd visit,” she explained. “And I'm glad I did because you were amazing.”

“You came all the way to Maryland just because I was speaking?” I asked, hoping she could hear herself.

“Mm-hmm,” she nodded. “I know we've not been on the best terms as sisters…”

“You got that right,” I cut in.

“Anyway, I just thought we should put it aside. And make up for lost time,” she explained.

I stared at her from top to bottom, unable to recognize the woman standing before me.

“Why are you really here?” I asked and crossed my arms.

“Like I said, I just came to visit you,” she insisted.

“If that's how you're going to be, then I'm leaving,” I said as I turned to leave immediately.

“I want to be more feminine!” she yelled out to me.

I froze in my movements, then turned to look at her.

“What did you just say?” I asked.

“I know we've had our differences,” she started. “I know I can't make up for everything I did to you. But I really need your help this time.”

She was asking me for help. Tabitha?

“You want my help?” I tried to clarify. “If you need something like that, why don't you just ask the brothers to help? You don't need femineity to get your hands on people you want.”

“I don't think our brothers can help me with what I want,” she said without looking at me.

“You're really throwing me off with the meek acting,” I sighed. “Do tell me exactly what is going on.”

She looked at me like I had dropped a life-threatening option in front of her. Her nervousness increased. I could have sworn I saw her cheeks turn red.

“There's this guy…” she started to say but trailed off.

“Oh, your target is a guy?” I thought I had finally caught on. “I can understand why you would want to use a feminine approach to make him offer you the information you need.”

“It's not like that,” she insisted, waving her hands in defense. “It's just something else.”

“Stop being vague. Why would you want to learn how to be feminine for some guy?” I asked then laughed. “What are you in love with him or something?”

She didn't answer. I was still laughing when reality turned on me, and I finally understood what was happening.

“Are you serious? You're in love?” I asked.

“What? No!” she responded. “It's just this guy I can't get him to submit. He is stronger than me, can command me even while on a leash, doesn't listen, and is absolutely stubborn. He might just be doing as he likes because I'm the alpha. I wanted to at least get the upper hand by trying something different.”

“Oh my goodness, you're in love.” That was the strangest news I had ever heard.

She knew better than to try explaining herself to me.

“How long has this been going on?” I asked.

“Are you going to help me or not?” she retorted.

“You have to forgive me; I wasn't expecting you to give me this whole… shock,” I said, motioning at her. “You can just be yourself. Be your alpha self.”
