“So you're saying you don't like me?” I asked, backing him into a corner.

“No, I…” he sighed, “You annoying little princess.”

I laughed at my little victory over him while he smiled at me.

“You look really handsome,” I admitted.

“Thank you. I was actually panicking about what to wear.”

“Really?” I raised a surprised brow, “I was also worried about the same thing too.”

“I had to call Mark.”

“Helena forced her dressing ideas.”

What is this?

No way, me? Happy about this… it can't be good. I can't be… falling in love. What if it's a trap? What if he's a spy from my dad? What if …

The thoughts were overwhelming and refused to leave my mind.

****The date was amazing. Brunch was at one of his favorite restaurants. I could see why after having their meals. a mini ranch was offering horse rides. I had never been on one before because the creatures frightened me. But he had ridden them several times. I refused to get on one, content with watching him ride.

“Oh my, who's that?” a lady asked.

“So hot. You think he's here with someone?” another inquired.

Rather than jealousy, it filled me with pride that other women were finding the man I wanted to be attractive. He stopped the horse right in front of me and reached for my hand.

“No…” I refused. I was still scared.

“Don't tell me the great alpha of the Hill is scared of a horse,” he teased.

“Joke all you want, but you said I was a princess today. So, I'm allowed to be terrified,” I said.

“Trust me,” he insisted.

“Go ahead!” a lady yelled at me.

“He's got you,” another added.

“Such a lucky girl.”

“Come on, or should I take your place?”

The pressure and cheering around us were too much, and I didn't want to disappoint Bruce's outstretched hand. I accepted his hand and everyone cheered. I was usually at the center of the spotlight, but now I was embarrassed. He helped me up the horse and sat me down before him. The animal started to move, and I shrieked.

“Easy,” Bruce whispered. “The reins hold them.”

I quickly grabbed them as my life depended on it.

“Ready?” he asked.

“No.”

The horse started to move, startling me. It was a slow pace; yet I was still terrified. Then, the horse started to move faster.

“Bruce! Bruce! Stop the horse!” I demanded.
