“I think we should go—” I say, diverting my gaze when Xavier stands up and positions himself at the woman’s entrance.

Tears spring to my eyes and I try desperately to keep myself in check.

Between London’s closeness, which is all kinds of confusing, and all that’s happening a few feet away, the weight of my nonexistent sex life comes crashing down.

I’ve never had that kind of sex—let alone in a place like this.

How in the hell am I meant to create an event that will turn these people on when I’m so ridiculously inexperienced?

What the hell was I thinking?

CHAPTER21

London

My head and body are spun into a whirlwind of confusion.

When Xavier and his conquest for the night came in, things got so sexually charged, that I thought for sure Lily would bolt.

Instead, she stayed.

I also thought for sure she’d notice the way my body had sprung to life.

Christ, I was so hard, it was painful.

It wasn’t because of the others, though.

It was Lily.

The way she clung to my body after my command. The way her breath hitched and she took shallow sips of air as she watched them—like full-onwatchedthem.

Christ, it was fucking hot.

Yeah, in that moment, I realized the stupidity of bringing her up here when she’s off limits. I knew better, yet, like a complete moron, I did it anyway.

But then…

When tears filled her eyes, I knew I’d fucked up big time.Again.

Friends.

I swore I could just befriends.

Yeah, good luck with that.

Biggest lie ever told.

“I think we should go—” she whispered, her voice wavering.

That was all it took to break the spell.

Springing into action, I take her hand and guide her away from the action and to the staff elevator. She follows behind me, allowing me to hold her hand the way I had earlier—another stupid move, but I can’t seem to help myself where she’s concerned.

I can tell she wants to run—to get as far away from me and this situation as possible. So, when we’re inside, I punch the button to go up one more level. I don’t let go of her hand, either. Hell if I’m going to break that connection if she lets me do it.

As the elevator closes and starts its climb, she doesn’t say anything. Instead, she clutches at the front of her shirt with her free hand, her breaths coming quick and fast.

“Lily,” I whisper, turning to her.
