Asher nods in agreement.

"Yeah, we just want you to be happy. Age shouldn't matter as long as he treats you right," he says with a smile.

There is such a sense of relief which washes over me at their words. I know I shouldn't let their opinions dictate my decisions, but their support means everything to me.

"Thanks, guys, I really appreciate it," I say, feeling grateful for their love and understanding.

"Now, let's take a look at this barn," I say, stepping inside.

"It's small, we'd have to add on," Finn says.

"But there is an office in the back too, so that's a bonus," I say as we move on to the bunkhouse.

"Small barn but large bunkhouse. This is more than we'd need, probably ever." Asher says as we look at the ten bunk beds that would sleep twenty people. The kitchen is larger than the main house, and there are three bathrooms.

"It would be nice to update it though," Zach says.

We all agree. The floors are fake wood, and the walls are in desperate need of a paint job, and it would be nice for them to have a sitting or TV area.

"Fifteen years, huh?" Asher says, standing beside me.

"Think that’s too old?" I ask him.

"I think anything over twenty years would be too old. You don't want them to die when you are in your thirties. You want to spend time with them and enjoy life."

"I’m not sure if I'd date anyone over ten years older than me. I don't think they could keep up," Finn smirks.

"Well, maybe you need to slow down. But you guys have to think about it from the other end. How much younger than you would you date?" I shove Finn with my shoulder.

"Huh, okay. Seven years for me because that puts her at eighteen and I'm not into the whole jailbait thing." Zach tells me as we head back to the main house.

"Have you seen the eighteen-year-old's now? I don't think you could keep up with them." Finn says, knocking off Zach's cowboy hat, but he manages to catch it before it hits the ground.

We all laugh as we continue our way back to the main house. Though I must admit that I’m feeling relieved that my brothers are supportive of me potentially dating an older man. It's not that I need their approval, but it certainly makes the decision easier knowing that they're on board with it.

I'm still unsure if I'm ready to push Josh or not, but knowing I have my brother's support with the age gap makes the choice easier.

Once we’re back to the house, Maverick greets us with a smile. "So, what do you guys think?"

"It seems good. The barn is a bit small, and the bunkhouse needs work. Talk to us about the land." Asher says any hint of playfulness was gone.

"The land goes for miles. Perfect for hunting and fishing. And the best part is, it's completely private. No neighbors for miles."

We all gather around as Maverick shows us a map of the land. It's vast, with fields and forests, and a river running through it.

"It's beautiful," Asher says, his eyes scanning the map.

"And a great place to get inspiration for your writing," Finn adds, nudging my arm.

I nod in agreement, taking in the beauty of the land. "It definitely has potential," I say.

They talk about price, and Asher pulls out his phone, and the frown on his face indicates that for some reason, this isn't the one either. The other guys pick up on it too and we head out to the truck to go home.

"What was wrong with it?" I ask as we drive away.

"The price they wanted was more than double per acre than anything we have seen. Even though we’ll offer them fair market value, I'm willing to bet they think we are low balling them and they’ll walk away," Asher says.

We get home and they go to talk to Mom and Dad while I go to my room and get ready for work. Normally I'm happy to be at work and see everyone who stops in, but today my mind keeps going back to Josh. Do I really want to commit to making the next move, putting my heart on the line and facing possible rejection and losing him forever?
