When she pulls back, she turns to Josh. "You must be Josh. You are pretty easy on the eyes." Sarah says just as Mac walks up.

"Hey, husband here," he says, wrapping an arm around her waist and kissing her cheek.

"Nice to meet you, Sarah. Jenna has told me a lot about you. And you to Mac," Josh says, reaching out his hand to be polite.

Sage walks up, giving me a hug. "We've heard a lot about you, too. I'm Sage, and this is my husband, Colt. Let's get you settled in your room before the overwhelming introductions happen. You will be staying here in the main house."

"While you are here, we moved back into Mac's old room, so we are close. Then we’ll have time to chat or binge watch some TV without me having to go back to our cabin each night," Sarah says, linking her arm in mine.

Mac, Josh, and Colt grab the bags, following Sage and me inside and upstairs.

"You guys will stay in the large suite at this end of the hall, but I'm down at the other end. So are Colt and Sage and Megan and Hunter. Their cabin is under renovation, so they are staying at the main house, too." Sarah fills us in.

"Okay, we won't hover. Go ahead and get settled. Take a nap if you want. Dinner is downstairs at six. If you want a tour of the ranch, just come down and let us know. Colt is happy to talk shop, and Sarah can show you all the changes since the last time you were here," Sage says.

"How big is the ranch?" Josh asks.

"We have just over 700,000 acres now. We are the second largest in the state." Colt says, and the pride in the land is evident.

"Shit. I had no idea. I'd definitely love to talk shop while I'm here. Even though I'm only a few hundred acres, I'm always looking for ways to improve.”

"Any time," Colt says, tipping his hat.

Before I know it, we are alone in a massive room with views over the pool and the ranch.

Josh pulls out his phone, pushing a few buttons before looking up at me with wide eyes.

"You realize their ranch is double the size of the city of Dallas?" he says with awe.

"I wouldn't be surprised. It's a huge operation. This site used to be Sage's family's land. She had adopted her now mom and dad, who had the ranch next door. Because she wanted to own her family's land, they all worked hard to make it happen. It doubled the size of the operation overnight. I think I heard they purchased some smaller neighboring ranches, too, but I'm not sure."

"Well, what do you want to do? Take a nap? Unpack? Go hang out?" He pulls me into his arms.

"Whatever you want to do," I say, and I can almost feel him roll his eyes.

"Well, I want to be where you are. I'm not tired and don't really want to hide away up here, so why don't we go down and spend time with everyone?"

"Sounds good. You can meet the guys in time for you to join Guys’ Night while we have Girls’ Night tonight," I say, opening the door and pulling him down the hallway.

"Wait. What now?"

Chapter 20

Jenna

Oneofmyfavoritethings about visiting Rock Springs is Girls’ Night. All the girls get together at the main house here where Josh and I have been staying, and the boys, AKA their husbands, take the kids, and all go to the other side of the ranch to stay at Mac's parents' house.

The guys play cards and talk about ranch stuff and shoot the shit while us girls all get to catch up and have tacos, margaritas and dessert. Plus, there is the added benefit of us having a good old-fashioned girls' talk. Many a problem has been fixed here.

When I get back to Walker Lake, I think I'm going to talk to Sky about setting one up locally. Between Sky and I, we can invite Austin and Natalie and the librarian, Candy, who just got married to her husband, North. I think getting together with the girls our age to talk about things could be a huge help. For instance, this issue of what is going on with my parents would be an item for discussion. Plus, who doesn't need more friends?

After a round of introductions from Sage, I realize I know about half the girls here and the other half I've heard in passing, but never actually met face to face. It's great to actually meet them.

"Now that we all know each other, let's grab some food and sit down in the living room. We've brought all the chairs in, and there should be plenty of seating for everyone," Sage says.

No one wastes any time making tacos and filling their plates full of food. The food is arranged on the kitchen island buffet style.

"So you got in yesterday, right?" Megan asks as she stands next to me, making her plate.
