”Manageable.” His whole body moves in a greedy stretch, that makes the headboard creak. ”What are you waiting for? Get on up.”

His eyes drink me in like I’m rainbow lemonade and my hand flies to my polyester sweater. This is crazy. I’ve lost my mind. I strip, struggling to get out of my pants and I almost lose my balance. I let out a huff, standing in front of him in cheap underwear I bought at a two for the price of one sale.

He can see all the little outlines of my private area. When I lose the rest, a humming sound escapes him and it makes me buzz. The mattress sinks under my weight, and I want to bolt out of here. Grab my clothes and run away, before I cross a line I can’t ever come back from.

But then Hendryk fidgets, his body moving in a big impatient wave and something snaps in me. That thing that’s been building up inside of me this whole time bursts. I burn like a fire, crackling and combusting and I let out a moan, clasping the base of his shaft and put him in my mouth.

Tears of happiness and confusion sting my eyes.

Hendryk doesn’t notice, he’s too busy moaning and hitting the roof of my mouth, his hips leaving the sheet between rhythmic pumps.

”Ellie…,” he pants, his head thrashing on the pillow and his arms strain against the cuffs. They cut into his skin but he feels no pain. He’s too much in the moment. ”Ellie please…”

I whirl my tongue around him, pretending he’s an ice pick and I’m in the desert. The moans and groans he makes, has my heart hammering like mad. I use my fist to pump him to same beat as my heart and he lets out a trembling cry between his lips.

Getting on top of him, I try to sink down on him but it gets far too much for me and I can barely handle the brush of his tip. ”Think I’m going to…,” I cry, tossing my head to the ceiling, ”to come…”

My eyes flare in shock and suddenly I become fully aware of what I’m doing. Dread fills me and I stop myself, and pull away.

”Fuck no!” Hendryk bellows, yanking at the cuffs so hard that I fear he’ll break his wrists. His eyes are filled with confusion and impatience. ”What happened? What’s wrong?”

I cower at the end of the bed, not daring to look at him and I bury my face in my hands. ”You don’t understand,” I whisper, choking on the lump in my throat. ”You don’t understand anything.”

Slowly I look up, and he’s watching me with raised brows.

”If only you knew what I’ve done…”

”What have you done? Did you kill someone?” He turns pensive. ”I can bribe whoever I need to bribe, but we’d probably have to leave the country tonight.”

Ashamed, I keep my gaze lowered as dread fills me up like a glass overflowing with Death in the Afternoon.

”Hey,” Hendryk says gently and I look up. ”If you whacked your boss over the head with a frying pan, I wouldn’t blame you.”

”I haven’t killed anyone,” I say, wrapping my arms around me. ”But I’ve done something that’s still horrible.” Pinching my lip, I breathe, ”Ever since we first met in the park, I’ve been o…obsessed with you.”

Hendryk’s brows knot. ”And I’m obsessed with you.”

”No, you’re not. Not in the way that I am.” Agony twists in me. ”I’ve been following you around this whole time, watching your every step, imagining the two of us together, plotting how to get close to you.”

”Nice,” Hendryk says, wiggling his brows as if he wants us to get back to what we were doing earlier as soon as possible and I gawk.

”Aren’t you offended? Angry I violated you like that, that I tied you up without any plan on letting you go?”

”What red-blooded male would be offended?” Hendryk grins cheekily. ”Everything you just said sounds good to me. I’m happy to be your prey. Prey on me all you want.”

I gulp. ”B…but this isn’t making any sense. You should have a stronger reaction. Get a little bit angry at least…”

”Alright, I’m angry,” Hendryk clips, showing his teeth. ”Grrr…,” he growls before winking at me. ”See? I’m fucking furious.”

He chuckles and I lick my lips when tenderness overflows in his eyes.

”Come on, Ellie,” he rasps, his voice hoarse. ”Don’t you think I already knew you were up to something? How often do two strangers bump into each other in this town that frequently?”

My face feels like it has a fever. ”You knew?”

”You were so fidgety around me, and your eyes shone with guilt whenever you looked at me.” He shakes his head. ”But there was no reason to torture yourself. Besides, I’m extremely flattered.”

Flattered?
