”Ella-Ashley Shrapnel,” she says in a voice so low I can barely hear her. ”But my friends and family call me Ellie,” she adds.

Pleased I got a nickname, I say, ”Are you doing anything tomorrow, Ellie?”

”How come you’re asking?” she swallows.

I shrug. ”Frau Frigid always invites me to her dinner parties and I’m thinking about going.”

”Why?” Ella-Ashley pants, her eyes flaring in horror. ”There’s no reason to start now. You’ll be bored, the food’s bland and she likes to play corny elevator music.”

The terror on her face, gives me a slightly sadistic urge to push. Tease her a little, in the way you pulled a girl’s pigtails when you were younger.

”Maybe I should go anyway. Stop her incessant nagging, you know? Every damn week, I get a handwritten invitation in the mail and it’s making me seriously worried about the environment.”

”Please, don’t go,” Ella-Ashley says, looking like she wants to throw herself around my neck. Not to kiss me though, but to choke. ”You’ll regret it.”

”Hm, I don’t know how I feel about all that paper waste.” I frown. ”I feel like I should just get it over with.” I lean my head back when Ella-Ashley pales. ”Will you be working tomorrow evening?”

”Always do,” she croaks.

”I see. Then I won’t go, since you clearly don’t want me there.”

”No, that’s not…,” she begins.

”It’s fine.” I hold up my palms, grinning and take a couple of steps back. ”I can take a hint.”

Her lips press together, her shoulders rising to her ears as if she’s getting uncomfortable. I can almost taste her anxiety. It thickens the air around us and Ella-Ashley deep inhales.

”Don’t tell me I hurt your feelings just now?” she blurts. ”And if you want to go to the party, then I can’t stop you.”

”My fragile appearance can be deceiving but I’m tougher than I look,” I joke, brushing off her worry. ”And rest assured, I won’t be going. I don’t want to put you in an uncomfortable position.”

Her chest flattens when she lets out a long exhale. ”It has nothing to do with that,” she says but she’s lying through her teeth, ”I was just giving you a friendly warning in return for what you did for me at the park.”

”That was nothing.” I glance at my watch. ”Maybe we’ll bump into each other once more like this?”

”You never know…,” Ella-Ashley pants. I smile at her, before we say our goodbyes and then we both go our separate ways.

Ella-Ashley

He dropped his pen. It fell out of his briefcase and I pick it up then put it in my pocket. I’m just going to keep it safe for now.

Once I’m sure he won’t be able to see me if he turns around, I hurry up and follow. I’m a wreck. It wasn’t a coincidence that he bumped into me.

Obviously.

I was waiting for the right moment and then I pretended to have no idea he’d be there. But I wasn’t prepared for his body to crash into mine or the impact. He was both harder and stronger than I could’ve wished for, and it only made me want him more.

There wasn’t anything I could do about it. I couldn’t control it. My body has a mind of its own when it comes to Hendryk and my hormones throw a rager as soon as he’s around.

Everything he says sounds like an innuendo to me. He mentioned something about not wanting to put me in an uncomfortable position and all I could think was, please do. I’d love it if he would put me in whatever position he desires, no matter how uncomfortable.

And when he raspedatta girl…

Good gravy, I nearly melted into a puddle and entered another realm. An image of us popped in my mind where his hands are on my hips, his strength forcing me to ride him harder while he showers me in praise.

Shuddering, I feel my lids flutter and shrug myself. I’m slowly going nuts. Haven’t I followed him enough for the day? I have things to do, a job to take care of but all obligations pale when my biggest one is him. I’ve turned into a puppet and Hendryk’s the reluctant puppeteer without even knowing it.
