“Harder!” she gasps, dropping a hand between her legs to toy with her clit.

A couple of weeks ago, Lo would’ve never been this bold. She’s starting to open up, to own her sexuality, and I’m fucking here for every second of it. I release her throat and bend her forward again, punching my hips to give it to her harder, and she rewards me with the sexiest moans I’ve ever heard as she takes everything I give her.

“Shit, Javi, I’m gonna come again!” she grits out, squeezing her thighs together until her pussy is suffocating my dick.

“Wait for me, baby,” I pant, not ready for this to end. Fuck, I’d make it last for hours if I could, but I’ve already edged myself to hell and back buried inside her.

The tension inside me builds and builds, and when Lo screams out and falls apart on my cock for a second time, I can’t hold back anymore. I reach down to wrap a fist around my dick, pulling out and painting that gorgeous ass of hers with ropes of cum, stars exploding behind my eyelids as I’m lost to the best orgasm of my fucking life.

When I start to come back down, I open my eyes, staring down in admiration at how fucking perfect she looks covered in my cum. I know she-wolves only ovulate with the full moon, but pulling out is a force of habit since I’ve mostly copulated with non-shifters up until now. I can’t say I regret it, though- not when her little ass looks this good marked by me, my wolf sitting up and preening at the sight.

Once I’ve officially committed that image to memory, I slide my hands up to her waist, spinning her around to face me and lifting her into my arms again. Her legs immediately wrap around my hips, lips pulling into a sated smile as I press mine against them, stealing one last kiss.

“I love you, too,” she whispers, snuggling in and burying her face in my neck with a satisfied sigh.

I hadn’t even realized that she didn’t say it back before, but shit, what we just did was a hell of a way to return the sentiment.

A flicker of movement in my periphery catches my attention, and I dart a glance toward the side of the building to see a face peeking out curiously from around the corner. My hacklesraise until I realize who it is that’s peeping- my second favorite stalker, Luke.

His jaw drops, eyes rounded in surprise, but I don’t call him out. I don’t want to ruin this moment for Lo.

Instead, I just bring a finger up to my lips in the universal signal for keeping secrets, winking at him.

“Are you decent?” River asks, rapping her knuckles against the doorframe of my old bedroom at the Westfield packhouse and bending forward to peek her head inside.

I lift my gaze from my laptop screen, grinning at my cousin as she lingers in the doorway. “Define decent.”

She grins back, striding into the room on her impossibly long legs, her long brown hair swishing behind her. My cousin is freakinggorgeous. After her wolf came in, she went from being a gangly, awkward teen to a dang knockout. “Whatcha workin’ on?” she asks as she plops down onto the bed beside me, leaning over to steal a glance at my computer screen.

“Squad stuff,” I reply blandly, minimizing the window of the facial recognition database I’ve been running images through all day and setting my laptop aside.

For the most part, my efforts have been a bust so far. I guess Javi wasn’t kidding when he said his pack has been off the grid for the last decade, because I’ve only been able to pull two matches of names to go along with the faces of his pack members so far and I’m almost to the last of the headshots in my folder. I still have to perform a thorough search on the names, but after all this work, I thought I’d have more thantwoto work with.

“Given any more thought to joining me in IT this summer?” I ask, sitting up and folding my legs underneath me.

River wrinkles her nose, giving a little shake of her head. “I just don’t think it’s for me. No offense, I know that’s totally your thing, but I’d just rather be out on the field kicking ass.”

My cousin River is eighteen, and despite our age difference, the two of us have always been close. I can hardly wait for her to graduate from high school soon and move up to the squad complex for the new recruits’ summer training camp. As the daughter of an alpha, she has a spot in squad leadership by birthright, but she’ll still have to go through training and initiation before being officially sworn in, just like the rest of us did.

My Aunt Brooke- River’s mom- was the head of the security squad’s IT unit before me, so everyone just kinda expected Riv to follow in her footsteps and work in IT. Hell, I myself expected it- I had her mom’s old workstation in the hub reserved for River until Sloane came back and started posting up there. Riv’s not a follower, though. The girl marches to the beat of her own drum.

Not gonna lie, I kinda envy her for it.

“Hey, it’s totally up to you,” I say, closing the screen on my laptop to give her my full attention. “And you can always change your mind later. No pressure.”

She purses her full lips, chewing on the inside of her cheek as she stares back at me thoughtfully. “I’ll keep thinking about it.”

I nod. “Fair enough. Is everybody here already?”

“Yeah, it’s a madhouse down there,” she laughs, leaning back on an elbow. “Your mom sent me to find you, she said it’s almost time to eat.”

I glance toward the clock on the nightstand with a wince. “Shit, is it that late already?”

I’ve been known to have a bad habit of getting a little too lost in my work. I swear it isn’t intentional; I just have this way of hyper-focusing that seems to make hours pass by in a blink. Take tonight, for example… I came over here following the squad’s afternoon training session, thinking I could lend a hand with setup or cooking for my sister Harper’s big birthday dinner. My mom shooed me out of the kitchen pretty quickly, so I posted up in my old bedroom instead to get a little bit of work in.

That was over two hours ago.
