I ignore him as tears—embarrassed ones—fill my eyes this time.

"Izzy," Brady tries again as his fingers wrap around my arm.

I glance up at him, his face blurry. "What?"

"I will take care of this," he promises.

"I-I have to...there's a..." I trail off as I drop my head into my hands.

"Come here," he quietly calls to me.

Somehow, I manage to stand as he's zipping up his pants.

"This is m-my fault."

Brady's hands find my face and he forces me to look at him. "She should have fucking knocked."

I nod. "I'm so sorry."

We have a strict no dating policy in this office.

You wouldn't be the first woman who's tried to get in Brady's bed. But it never works. Brady is not interested, and he won't risk his livelihood for a quick romp in the hay.

She warned me. She said there was a no dating policy. She warned me not to sleep with him.

"There isn't a no dating policy," Brady's voice cuts through the noise.

"What?"

"You just said she warned you about a no dating policy," Brady shakes his head. "We don't have one of those."

"She's going to hate me," my lower lip trembles as Brady presses his forehead to mine. "Angie is going to hate me."

"We'll tell her we're married," Brady suggests.

"My daughter doesn't even know we're married," I shake my head. "I can't tell Angie before I tell my family."

"Get dressed and hang out in here for the rest of the day," Brady instructs. "I'll deal with Angie."

I put on my bra as Brady picks my dress up off the floor. When he hands it to me, a fresh wave of tears trickles down my face.

"Izzy," Brady's voice cracks, "it's going to be fine."

"She said that you wouldn't risk your livelihood for a romp in the hay," I shake my head.

"She's right," he replies. "I wouldn't risk everything for a romp in the hay, but I'd risk everything to be with you."

"Brady," I cry. "I don't want you to lose your business partner or your job."

"Can I tell you something?" he asks as I pull my dress over my head.

"Yeah," I gnaw on the inside of my cheek.

"I don't care about any of that. The only thing I can't lose is you."

"I'm not going anywhere," I promise.

"We'll figure this out, Iz." I can see the panic in his eyes. "Please, don't leave this time."
