“Goodness.” His mom smiled. “We never thought you were an Alan.”

Elijah’s shoulders sagged. “If you think this is what’s best for them…”

She squeezed Elijah’s hand. “It is, sweetheart.”

And Mason fell a little deeper in love with Elijah. He knew that his mate was a remarkable person, and he felt grateful to have him in his life. He had been drawn to Elijah’s kind heart, and this act of selflessness just made him love him even more.

“I’m buying drinks, bitches!” Elijah said when he met up with his friends outside of Fearless Fox. Although he hated that his grandparents were taken away from him, and he missed them like crazy, along with his parents, he loved his newfound freedom.

He loved Mason even more.

Their love for one another had been growing stronger every day, and Elijah never knew he could be this sickeningly happy. He’d moved in with Mason but often went by his grandparents’ house—even though the house was now his, Elijah would always think of it as theirs—to make sure everything was okay.

Although his grandparents had been gone for a month, their neighbors still came by to clean it. Old habits died hard, and he couldn’t ask for better neighbors.

Mason slipped his arm around Elijah’s waist as they went inside. Yes, Mason was now a part of their group, along with Elijah’s co-worker and friend, Julian. Even Sheriff Harper joined them, although he was in plain clothes and not his uniform.

The group settled down at a large table, and Elijah ordered a round of shots for everyone. They clinked their glasses and downed the boozy liquid with ease. As the night went on, the group grew rowdier, laughter and loud conversations filling up the small bar.

Life was freaking fantastic, and Elijah looked forward to his future with his tiger. Mason had been the missing piece of the puzzle in Elijah’s life. With Mason’s love, Elijah felt complete and invincible. He couldn’t imagine living without Mason. They were mates, and nothing could ever come between them.

THE END
