“$450,” the little turd said.

“How about you giveme$450 or I’ll ask my hired muscle to hit you again,” I said, pointing at Beau.

He looked at me and looked at Beau again. Beau was leaning casually against the doorjamb. Tall, those big arms folded, one leg crossed over the other. But he wasn’t looking at the little twerp. I turned and saw he was looking fixedly at me.

“All right,” Eric whined. “I won’t tell. God. Goawayplease.”

“Thank you,” I said politely. “Now go put some steak on that.”

I slammed the front door as hard as I could, then started walking back to the car.

I heard Beau’s low chuckle as I yanked open my car door angrily. It was an unexpectedly appealing sound, and it made me feel uncomfortably warm.

“Is that what they teach you in business school?” Beau asked as we drove back to the club.

“I don’t know,” I said, then I suddenly pressed my lips together.

“Those archaeologists must be a rough lot,” he said.

I didn’t look at him, keeping my eyes fixed on the road.

Beau said nothing, just stretched his long legs out in front of him.

“Are you going to tell Rupert?” I asked, finally sliding a glance over at him. He was so big he really did barely fit in the car.

“Nah,” he said, and his voice was light and amused. “Serves that dumbass right for not bothering to google you, because he would have seen that you’re a dirty little liar immediately.”

“My father runs a conflict management firm,” I said. “So I thought it would be an easy way to earn money this summer. But you all are the opposite of easy money.”

“I won’t tell Rupert,” he said, and I heard another laugh in his voice. “You’ve just started to make yourself useful. And who knows what other useful things I might find for you to do.”

“I don’t want to leave without solving the mystery,” I said. “I want to find out who has it in for Heavenly Lights.”

I heard Beau shift beside me. “That’s not part of your job description,” he said. “Don’t go around trying to Nancy Drew the letters. It’s probably some lunatic with too much time on his hands.”

I said nothing as we pulled into the club parking lot. Iwasgoing to find out who was behind the letters. I didn’t think it was just a random lunatic.

ELOWYN

Iwas in the dressing room helping the queens prepare for the last show before we would start Out of This World Fantasy & Sci-Fi Nights.

I was not sure how exactly I had ended up helping them prep for almost every show and then attending almost every show. I didn’t reallyneedto be there, but there always seemed to be something that came up, and then one or other of the queens insisted that I stay for the show.

At least it justified me coming in to work no earlier than 1 pm.

“Come tuck me, El,” Beau said, leaning back in his chair, his long legs up on the counter.

Tuck? As in, hisdick?

I knew he was trying to intimidate me, and I was determined not to be intimidated. So I closed my mouth and walked over to him.

He stood up, towering over me, and dropped the towel around his waist, handing me a cotton pad and the tape he used to secure his dick up while in drag.

Even without an erection, he was fucking huge. I tried not to look at him butholy shit.No wonder everyone except Schwarb had fucked him and was waiting in line to fuck him again.

“You need to get the money back from your circumcision,” I said. “They didn’t take nearly enough off. How am I supposed to work under these conditions?”
