"Your dad was a great friend to me, as was your mother. I may not have been involved in your life but…" to my shock, Tricia was getting emotional and I couldn't believe it. I reached for her and hugged her, seeing Kit over her shoulder as I did. He smiled at me, and when I let go of Tricia she wiped a tear from her face.

"We didn't really get a chance to talk, the last time you were here. It was strictly business and I knew the huge pressure that must have been on your shoulders. I didn't want to overwhelm you."

I nodded, knowing what she'd meant.

"You should know, since what's happened we've doubled in strength to ensure it never happens again."

I nodded, "Thank you, Tricia."

She placed her hand at the top of my arm to comfort me and as I stood smiling at her, we each noticed a group of guys passing and I recognised the guy at the front. He was called Jesse. I'd met him for the first time during my first visit to Delta.

"Kit, we're heading to train. You coming?"

Kit looked at me and Jesse raised his eyebrows.

"Miss Johnson," he said politely.

"Just Eve," I answered.

"Eve," he smiled, "do you mind if I steal your fella? We have a bit of an ongoing bet you see."

He smirked as I looked at Kit. "Really?"

"Yeah, well he likes to show off. I like to put him in his place, that sort of thing…" Jesse said and grinned at Kit as he crossed his arms, smirking at him.

"It's been five days, Mate, you're still yet to beat me," Kit said and the guys standing with Jesse chuckled. I tried not to stare at them and they all looked as if they were trying not to stare at me too. These guys were the real deal. These were the guys that wore the gear. The very same gear that Kit kept locked away his cupboard, along with his mask. These were the guys that would have been sent to rescue me alongside Kit.

"True, but let's see how you cope under pressure now that your Mrs is here to watch."

Kit let his hands loose. "Fair enough."

Kit walked over to me and spoke close. "You wanna come with me? I have to get changed..."

I glanced around at everyone looking.

"She can stay with me," Tricia said, "we'll be right here."

Kit looked at Tricia then as if he was sharing a specific look with her.

"She'll be safe, Kit," she smiled and he nodded before pecking my cheek and leaving.

Once Kit was gone, I was left with Tricia as the lads left to go outside.

"They've had this competitive thing going on for weeks now since we got the assault course fitted."

I smiled. "I saw it the other night but not very well. What's it like?"

"You ever watched Ninja Warrior UK?"

"No?!" I scoffed and she nodded.

"Yeah, it's kinda like that but without the water beneath it."

"So what happens when they fall?"

"Trust me, I've told them over and over to install those cushion things, incase they fall."

I raised my eyebrows, "Have any of them fallen yet?"
