I have waited centuries to taste you. I will never get enough of this sweet honey. His mind caressed her as erotically as his tongue.

She wanted to respond, but her mind had gone into meltdown and her body was enslaved by the sexy man who held her. Each stroke of his tongue wound her body tighter and tighter. The pleasure building was like a hurricane until she had no choice but to let go. The intensity of her orgasm was so powerful, she clutched his hair as the wave of ecstasy swamped her.

“Kell,” she whispered his name like a talisman. The singular creature in the universe that could anchor her in a tsunami of heat and sensation.

His tongue attacked her once more, and she was rewarded with orgasm after orgasm. She wasn’t sure if she lay there for minutes or hours as one sensation rolled to the next. Her mind drifted when he finally lay beside her, but she lacked the energy to keep her eyes open.

“It’s supposed to be your turn.”

CHAPTER16

Alana clutched the raised scale as Kell raced through the skies. When he had woken her, told her it was dark enough to leave, she hadn’t believed him. Apparently, a dozen orgasms were better than a sedative because the entire day evaporated in his arms.

She had taken the backpack Mara put together for her and hugged her sister before she left. Things weren’t like they had been when they were children, but she felt less guilty having Mara know the truth. Her sister may not agree with her choices, but she wasn’t in the dark about her motivations.

With her backpack secure with Kell’s clothing tucked inside, she had mounted her blue dragon and taken to the skies. He said he could speed up the trip, but she had no idea she would be traveling at warp speed. She felt like she was on a spaceship, except she could see the earth move beneath them at a dizzying pace.

Kell moved in her mind. We will arrive in the Scotland caves in a few minutes. Legion and Rhadan will create a distraction to garner Allorin’s attention until we are deep within the tunnels. I can pass through the exterior wards without deactivating them.

She noticed the ground slow beneath her, indicating he was lessening their speed. “What kind of distraction?” she still struggled to keep her thoughts internal.

I am not sure, but they will lure the mage to Mara’s store. They have already instructed Tempest to wait in the loft. The store has closed early today due to staffing issues.

“It has to be something the mage wants. Tell Legion that any artifact that boosts power or longevity will lure Allorin.”

He has something in mind. I will land just outside the opening. Legion will spring his trap when my feet touch the ground.

The ground shook slightly when Kell landed, and a few small rocks tumbled down the mountainside near them. The dark slate and greenery were in contrast to the Colorado mountains. She knew she should feel cold, but the temperature hadn’t changed since they left the cabin. She moved back as Kell shifted to his human form.

He approached her and grabbed his clothes after she removed them from the pack. “Legion has sent a subtle surge of power into a stasis idol.”

She handed Kell the backpack, and he slipped it onto his broad shoulders after adjusting the straps. “What is a stasis idol?”

“It was created by the druids to mimic a dragon’s slumber. It slows the human body. It would extend Allorin’s life expectancy in his current body.”

“He will definitely go for that.”

Kell took her hand and led her to a large boulder. “Open.” The rock wavered before a massive hole appeared. It wasn’t big enough for a dragon, but the spell that hid it was impressive. He led her inside the tunnel.

She clicked her small flashlight on until Kell chuckled. “Illuminate.”

She gave him a dirty look and clicked off the light. “You might have mentioned this cave has overhead lighting.”

“It doesn’t, but our forbearers lived here with their druid mates. The caves are heated and will light up at our command.”

“You were ahead of your time. It’s the ancient version of a smart home.”

Kell pulled her closer to him. “I suppose it is. Come on, the vault is deep in the mountain.”

“The vault?”

“That is what Magnus called it. I was unaware it existed until Legion showed me a map and revealed the spells to drop the wards.”

“I wonder why he hid it from his people. The dragons, I mean.”

“We have always had access to a seer. I imagine our former leader had some inkling the blacks would seek this artifact.”

“They already possess immortality,” she said.
