I thread my arms under her legs and grip her ass, tugging her forward until she’s close enough to the edge to give me full access. Her hands are behind her on the orange felt, holding her steady as she looks at me like she knows I’m about to rock her world.

I kiss her hip, teasing her, and she whines in anticipation. Her impatience today is such a fucking turn on, I can’t resist. I press her legs open wider with my shoulders as I move closer and drag my tongue across her center, sending another wave of chills through her. I twirl my tongue slowly against her clit, savoring being intimate with her this way, knowing I’m the only one who has ever tasted her. Her fingers weave into my hair at the base of my neck, soft at first. Then they take hold, forcing me closer, asking for more without words. I stiffen my tongue, driving it deep inside, fucking her with it as she cries out.

I slide one hand out from under her, my other holding her ass, pulling her toward my face as I suck on her clit and drive two of my fingers inside her. The sexiest moan comes from above me as I curl my fingers and she falls over the edge, her legs shaking around me. As her walls pulse around my fingers, I slow my thrusts–how she likes it when she comes this way–and run my tongue over her softly as she trembles with her orgasm.

I stand as she slides off the edge of the pool table and into my arms. “God, I love when you come undone for me,” I tell her as I tug the hem of her dress back down.

“I love you,” she whispers, still breathless, before she kisses me.

CHAPTER FORTY-TWO

TROY

“Comehere,”Isayto Lexy as soon as we are through the door at Jameson’s where we are meeting Mack. When she steps closer, I wrap my arm around her and pull her into me. She smiles into our kiss. I love how comfortable she’s gotten around me in public and how comfortable she seems to be in Oregon. I can imagine our life here, an extension of how amazing this past week has been. That doesn’t mean she sees it as any more than a good vacation. If taking over this bar is not in alignment with my life right now, I’m okay with that. I can find another job. I have a job. I can’t find another Lexy. But I’m still hoping she’s leaning in this direction.

“Whatcha thinking about?” She looks up at me, her bright blue eyes standing out in the otherwise dark bar.

“You.” I bury my fingers into her hair and lean in until my lips reach her ear. “And how much I want to fuck you on top of this bar.” I feel her smile against me, her hands that were pressed into my chest move to loop around my neck and pull me closer.

“The pool table the other night wasn’t enough?” she whispers back.

I shake my head against her. “It’s never enough.”

“Well, if you owned this bar, we could probably make that happen.” Fuck, if those words didn’t go straight to my dick for more than one reason. I avoid overthinking it.

“You want to go home?”

“I wish. But I told Mack I’d hang around. I’m only going to see him once more before we leave, and we don’t know when we will be back, ya know?” Her statement contradicts the one she made a moment ago, and the hope I didn’t realize I was holding onto fades.

“Yeah, I know. Speaking of.” Mack walks up to us. “Hey, man,” I direct the greeting at Mack as Lexy pulls away from me to aggressively wrap her arms around him. He stumbles backward, unprepared for her tackle.

“Lexy, I’m only going to be a short plane ride away. It’s not like you’re never going to see me again. And we still have another day.” He reads her mind. I’ve come to like Mack. I wouldn’t say we are friends or anything, but we’ve ended up alone a handful of times while Lexy is in the bathroom or off doing something, and I don’t mind his company. He’s also important to the girl I love, and I appreciate him, knowing he cares about her too. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s given her a push toward me more than once these past few months. We might not be where we are without him.

She pulls away from him and leans back into my chest. “I know. It just won't be the same.”

“Oh fuck,” I mumble under my breath. It wasn’t intentional, but it was loud enough Lexy hears it and looks up at me, confused. Before I can say anything, Dean is in front of us.

“Hey, man. It’s been a long time.”

“Sure has.” I reluctantly let go of Lexy to bro hug him. I don’t know all the details of what’s going on between him and Maci and Mack and Maci, but I remember the possessiveness Dean showed toward me for just talking to Maci once. Considering his reaction toward someone who has been his friend and neighbor half his life, I should probably be ready for possible punches to be thrown between him and a stranger.

I clear my throat to prepare me for God knows what. “This is my girlfriend, Lexy.” I catch her smile out of the corner of my eye. It’s the first time I’ve introduced her as my girlfriend to anyone, and I love that she’s happy about it. I choose to hold onto that.

I laugh to myself. I’m not trying to think about the time I slept with my girlfriend’s best friend, but it’s kind of unavoidable at this moment, standing here with two dudes who have done the same. Thank God I’m not in either one of their positions.

“And this is Mack.”

Mack reaches his hand out. I feel like a teenage girl watching a high school drama.

“Hey, nice to meet you. I’m Dean.” He says it right as their hands connect. In the same moment, they both realize exactly who the other one is.

It takes Lexy a second longer for it to register. Then her eyes go wide. Mack pulls his hand away, and his fists clench at his side. Dean’s do the same. Their eyes are on each other as if they are assessing the competition. I’ve seen that look on Dean after playing football with him for four years. To their credit, they both keep it together.

“I’m going to get a drink, do you want anything?” Mack looks at Lexy when he asks. As far as I know, Mack doesn’t drink, but Lexy gives him the out.

“No,” she says hesitantly, “but I’ll join you in a second.”

Mack walks off–out the front door instead.
