“You won’t be able to sleep without at least one orgasm,” I pointed out. “Don’t worry, I can make a few minutes of edging feel like hours.”

“Fine,” she grumbled. “Just one, though.”

“I thought you’d say that.”

Chapter Twenty-Four: Valor

“Leg day, am I right?” Alex grimaced as we left the change room and headed toward the gym equipment.

Although I wasn’t looking forward to the workout either, I couldn’t imagine how much easier it would be for Loïc to catch me if I was in worse shape.

I’d never been a big gym enthusiast, but the company provided memberships to us at no charge. They probably hoped we’d stay active and not cost the company health plan too much money.

Mike and Jabir were already around here somewhere, but Alex stuck to me, like usual. He wasn’t my favorite coworker, but it was better than working out alone.

We stretched, and I let my mind drift. Work, work, Tarryn. Dinner.

Loïc.

It was on brand that Loïc had somehow weaseled his way ontoRose Red, even if it was briefly, but unexpected that they’d been attacked by three men and that he’d kicked ass. Was there anything the man couldn’t do?

He made me irrationally jealous, and I wanted to hate him, even if he was hot…but it was hard to hold a grudge. He didn’tusuallymean to wreak havoc everywhere he went, but he was like an amorous, chaotic cyclone.

The video he’d sent me a few days ago of Tarryn begging him for an orgasm had been hot as fuck. Watching him touch her, lick her, taunt her, and eventually fuck her—fucking fuck. I’d had a hands-free orgasm watching it the first time and had watched it several times a night, every night since.

I steered my mind away from that subject, not wanting to get hard and/or moody in the middle of a packed gym. With my luck, one of the guys from work would notice the bulge in my shorts and assume it was about them.

The equipment I wanted was already in use, but I was in no hurry. It wasn’t like I was going home to anyone, unlike most of the other guys.

“You want to grab a drink after this?” Alex was waiting for the leg press machine next to the one I was waiting for.

“I can’t. I need to start getting more sleep.”

“You can sleep when you’re dead. Have you been to Maurice’s?”

“No.” It was a new place, and a little too young, from what I’d seen of the people lined up outside.

“Come on…one drink. I don’t want to go by myself and look like a creep. The girls that hang out there are fucking hot.”

“I’m married, remember? That’s not a selling feature for me.”

“Fuck, man. Your wife is halfway around the world. No one’s going to blame you if you have a casual hook-up once in a while.”

“I don’t step out on my wife.”

“You expect me to believe you put up with not getting any for months on end? Why would you do that to yourself? You have to know Tarryn’s getting laid over there.”

What the fuck? I turned a glare his way.

“I don’t cheat.”

“Seriously?”

“Seriously.”

The machine I was waiting for became available, so I gave Alex a nod to let him know I wasn’t pissed about the conversation, and claimed it.

I couldn’t imagine sneaking around behind Tarryn’s back. What was the point of being married if you were going to pretend you weren’t? We had acquaintances who were poly or swingers, but that was all negotiated and consensual, not deceitful.
