“Did you think I would fuck Tarryn and not check in with you afterward?”

“You’re checking in with me halfway across the world. This could have been a phone call. I think you’re enjoying the drama of showing up here.”

He smiled at me, but his eyes were cold, aggressive.

I didn’t smile back. “Fuck you, Loïc.”

He made a moue of displeasure. “So hostile.”

“You don’t think I have a reason to be hostile?”

“Possibly.”

“I let the two of you have some fun together but that doesn’t mean you can lay claim to her.”

“That really isn’t up to you, is it? If I want her all to myself, that decision will be hers to make.”

“Are you threatening me?”

“Think of it more as a friendly bit of advice. If you want to keep her, you’d better stop taking her for granted. I know you’re both busy, but she deserves better than your indifference.”

“She told you I take her for granted?” That didn’t sound like her at all.

“No, but I pay attention. She talks about you as though you’re the second coming, but I’m not sure you deserve her.”

“Oh? And you thinkyoudeserve her?”

“I think I would make more of an effort than you have been for the past three years. I also think the fact that I can spend every minute of every day making sure she’s happy and cared for works in my favor.”

“Why don’t you go find your own woman?”

“Because you offered me yours, and I’m not stupid. Why not take the woman I want, rather than searching for some theoretical woman I may never meet?”

“So, what? Are you betting she leaves me for you?”

“She’s not a prize. This is just life. I’m not willing to leave you both marinating in your unsatisfying little arrangement of a marriage when I can offer her more. If you think you deserve her, then you’d better prove it to her.”

“Where do you get off—”

“Most recently? In your wife’s tight cunt.”

I curled my hands into fists.

He lifted a brow. “Why didn’t you answer her when she was begging you to give her direction about what to do with me? That was cruel. And don’t give me some excuse about a meeting. I don’t believe you.”

My stomach twisted.

“I didn’t know what to do,” I admitted. “She and I have cleared the air. I don’t owe you an explanation.”

“So, you left her alone with an important decision after you put her in the situation to begin with. That makes you a shit husband and a shittier dominant.”

“I’ve never claimed to be perfect.”

“Have you even apologized to her?”

For the life of me I couldn’t remember if I’d apologized. I’d have to apologize again, to make sure.

“As I thought. Maybe she’ll choose me after all.”
