Hisdeep voice called out my name and my head snapped towards the direction of his face. I was bubbling with joy. “Vlad!”

I ran towards him and jumped into his arms. He wasn’t ready to catch me, but thank God he did. His arms slid round my waist and I wrapped my legs around his. He groped my butt and pressed nuzzled his face between my chest. His blue eyes shone and his straight white teeth bared as he gazed up at me.

He smiled a lot more often these days. Mostly around me. In fact, onlyaround me. And his brothers, a few times.

He stuck his face between the crook of my neck and mumbled. “Excited about tomorrow?”

His mouth against my bare skin sent shivers down my spine and heat pooled between my legs. I ignored the sensation and beamed. “No, no...” I shook my head. “Sergey officially accepted you as a part of the family.”

Vlad pulled his head back and quirked a dark brow. “So, you’re not excited about tomorrow?”

“What? No,” I laughed and slid down his solid body. He lowered his head and I lifted my chin, tilting my head backwards. “I can’t wait for tomorrow. I was only excited because Sergey...”

“I know.” He shrugged; his cocky grin smacked across his lips. And I chortled.

“Funny, he knew too.”

“What?”

“Nothing,” I shook my head, still laughing. Then, I looked into his eyes and my heart skipped a beat. Right there and then, I knew I’d felt all along. It was beyond the urge to kiss him senseless or argue all day long with him. It went deeper than just wanting him all the time or hurting if he was not okay.

What I felt was deep, pure, genuine, and priceless.

I slid my hands up his, basking in the moment and watching the reflection of the burning flames through his eyes.

“I love you, Vlad,” I said. And I meant it. The butterflies in my tummy flapped their wings now, but it wasn’t nerves. It was happiness and bubbling joy that I had found who I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.

His eyes widened and I saw the surprise in them. Quickly, his gaze darkened and his skin suddenly burned hot under my palms. He grabbed both my wrists and yanked me closer to his chest.

His soft lips came crashing down on mine and I melted into him.

When he pulled away, we were both breathing hard and, from the corner of my eyes, I saw Nikolai and Giselle smirking at us from behind.

“Do I still need to say it?” he asked, his voice husky and eyes, hooded. My eyes snapped to his face and I shook my head.

“You don’t need to.” I kissed his jaw and smiled up at him. “I know.”

We took pictures and I made him promise to frame the photographs.

The next day was good. The ceremony was brief and forward, just as I’d requested. My best part was when we both got to exchange vows and say, “I do.” My second-best part was that he’d brought my mother to watch us get married.

Midday was fun. The kids danced a lot, even more than the adults did. And they ate a lot of cake too. Vlad didn’t dance and neither did his brothers. But their wives were the life of the party.

My most treasured part, however, was dusk, when the guest had to retire to their homes and I was left with some time for myself. I’d happily peeled off the white lace gown and kicked off the shoes the second I stepped into our room. By the way, I’d gone with conventional. The gown was shimmering silver, stopped just below the knee, and hugged me in all the right places.

It was pretty while it lasted.

Now, I sat at the edge of the bed, wrapped in a fluffy purple bathrobe with water dripping from my hair and down my face, applying lotion on my leg, and humming the tune ofLivin’ & Lovin.’The soft fabric rose up to my thigh, barely covering my butt, and I reached for it to pull it down when the door opened.

My husband walked in, his cologne diffusing the air in the room.My husband. Mine.He was finally mine.

“Hi.”

I had been aiming for chirpy and excited, not breathless sultry like I sounded. But when he looked at me likethat,I felt hot and bothered.

His cloudless blue eyes darkened and his gaze sharpened, raking from my head to my toenails peeking beneath the robe.My insides swam with anticipation and I knew there was no thread of hesitation in me.

He hung his jacket and made to unbutton his shirt. “Hi.”
