“Thank you,” Lennon says and then leans into me. “I’ll miss you today, Master,” she says softly before she kisses me.

I take over the kiss, ready to lose control with her, but I have a meeting I can’t miss with Andrei in Chinatown.

It’s been a long day and it’s not even over yet. My father had to cancel lunch because something came up at the Melody. I told him I could have dinner with him. I told Dmitri what the new plan was, and he only asked that we do it at the house.

So here I am, trying to make my new home look presentable. My phone pings, and I look down at the text.

Dima, my love

You are perfect just the way you are. Our home is fine too.

Me

How did you know?

I look around and try to find the camera.

Dima, my love

I always have eyes on you, but only I have access to these feeds.

I dial his number.

“That’s rude.” I laugh and then check on my pots of food.

“I’ll be home in an hour. You won’t be with him by yourself for too long.”

“What about training?”

“I can train from the outdoor home gym. You are more important.”

“Thank you.” I sigh.

We hang up as the doorbell goes off.

I make my way out the front door to the gate. I checked the camera, so I know it’s my father. I also look out the peephole in the gate and see it’s still just him.

I unlatch and open the gate. Anton is standing there and I nod at him, letting him know I’m okay. He and Nikita have access to the house if I hit any one of the panic alarms in the house.

“Hello, Father.” I smile at him.

He leans forward and kisses my cheek.

“Whose place is this?” He swings his hand around.

“Come in and we can talk.”

I’m surprised he hasn’t figured it out.

“Wait.” He stops at the entrance and turns to look back at the towering house across the street. “This is Dmitri’s?”

“Not exactly. It’s both of ours.”

“You live with him?”
