I swing my head toward him. I don’t want to leave my wife with them any longer than necessary.

“If we want to end this, we need to really make a statement. Got it?”

I nod.

When we pull up, Alek has two of the guards stay with Lyric in the car. She argues, but he just tips his head forward and stares at her.

“Okay,” she says softly. “I’ll get information on the warehouse,” she offers, and he nods.

We step through the doors, and this time when people run from us, guards grab a few of them, stopping them from running.

“Morosov, this isn’t like you,” the Chairman says in a flat voice.

“You took my man’s wife. We told you she was off limits, and you still took her.” Andrei pulls his gun and aims it at the Chairman. “You’ve been warned. We can take blood.”

He turns to me and nods. I have my knife out in one hand and my gun in the other. I fire at one of their guards, shooting him between the eyes.

“Wait. Wait. Wait. I tried to stop him, but he’s a general. I can’t control him. He’s from the family back in Hong Kong.”

“You let him take her,” I growl as I move closer.

The idiot from October is sitting there. He’s next as far as I’m concerned.

“We’ll tell you where they are if you give us the hacker. She’s wanted by the Irish. The other is wanted by the Italians. It could put us in good favor with them.” I try not to react to his words, but Alek isn’t so calm.

“No, she’s mine.” He shoots his gun over the Chairman’s head.

“What are you doing taking all of our enemies as your women? You can’t just claim them to protect them. We’ll get one of them eventually,” the October idiot says, and it’s the last thing he says as my knife slides across his throat. His blood splashes across the table and at the Chairman. He flinches, and I can’t stop the smirk. I knew he’d have something to say, and I was ready to end him.

“They are off limits,” Andrei says. “We’ll deal with them.”

“Fine.” The chairman waves a hand. “We are done. Your women are safe as long as you claim them all, or the other families will take them.”

“Is that a threat?” I bark as I aim my gun at him.

He leans forward, not afraid of me.

“You are only two spies. You can’t kill me.” He laughs, and I fire the gun right over his shoulder. Two spies is the term used traditionally for mine and Mikhail’s positions.

“I’m a husband and you have my wife. I’ll kill you if you keep me from her any longer. We know she’s in a warehouse. Which one?” I demand.

He spits on the table. “Morosov, control your man,” he orders.

“I wasn’t the one who brought family into business,” Andrei replies.

“Family? These women aren’t family. Kill any more of my men and it’s war.” He threatens, and I turn to Andrei, who nods.

I shoot the guy to the Chairman’s right, knowing it’s his son. I only shoot him in the arm, but our message is clear. We don’t wait but turn and head out. He’s sputtering and asking for help with his son.

As soon as we are in the SUV, I turn to Lyric. “Who knows you’re the hacker in this little gang?” She looks at me in surprise.

“I didn’t tell anyone but my fa—Duncan. He asked me to hack the Lucky Dice because of Aldridge stealing it from him. But Lennon said that’s a lie. I was going to research it and find out. But I know.”

She looks at all of us before her eyes settle on Mikhail. He watches her from the mirror. “I know you killed him.”

“Da,” he says and nods.

“My sisters don’t know though. I saw what he did.” She turns to Andrei. “He was going to kill that woman.”
