I don’t have enough leverage to do what she wants like this. I fling her off my lap and press her onto the couch. “Want you from behind.”

“Yes, do it, do it.”

I don’t want her to lose her momentum. I slide into her, hooking my hands around her waist, and let out a string of curses. She feels so good. So tight. So welcoming. She hasn’t lost that first-time feeling ever since the beginning.

A roll of thunder rocks the house and, as if that’s something happening inside Kira’s body, she moans. One with nature. A force to be reckoned with.

I run my hand along her jaw, cupping her chin in my hand, and yank her back to whisper in her ear. “Let me know how good I make you feel.”

She whimpers.

“Let the world know.”

Her pretty ruby lips part. I catch her next moan in my mouth, letting it shake my insides. Suddenly, I’m thrusting at a speed I didn’t know possible, sliding in and out at breakneck speed, wishing I could somehow go deeper, let her swallow me whole.

Kira reaches back for me, hand slapping at my side. She finally lands her grip around my ass, digging her fingernails into it. Her grip drives me to pound into her and with each one, I feel the coil inside of her tighten until she rips her mouth from mine and wails.

Lightning clouds my vision, leaving me starry-eyed. I’m not sure if it’s the storm or just the orgasm tearing through my body that does it, but whatever it is, I am drenched in ecstasy.

Kira buries her face in the couch cushion, letting out the last of her keens while I’ve gone mute, face slack with relief of the pent-up pleasure. I needed her last night. Needed her even more now.

I’m not sure I can let her go.

I start to press a line of kisses across her back, nuzzling her, wanting her to know just how special she is to me.

Midway through the row, Kira pushes me away. I have no choice but to withdraw from her, my cock all sad and soft looking, coated in her juices and growing cold.

“We can’t keep doing this,” she says and reaches for her T-shirt.

I’m not sure I’ve heard her correctly. “Huh?”

“You’re my boss. It – it doesn’t make sense.”

There goes all my hope. No. Delusion.

She’s right. It doesn’t make sense and it never will.

But if she’s right, why does my whole body ache at her saying it?

“I’m sorry,” she says, though it doesn’t feel genuine since she’s not looking at me. “I think maybe what happened last night might have been a sign that we are…in over our heads.”

Every choice I make is calculated and precise. Except for Kira. I could say I saw it coming a mile away, but I didn’t. Kira was not in my plans.

That’s how it should remain.

I clear my throat. “No, you’re right. It was foolish.”

Her shoulders jump. “I didn’t say that.”

I push myself up off the ground and grab my clothes, putting them on as fast as possible. Being naked in front of her feels way too vulnerable right now. “Don’t worry about me. I’ll pretend as if it never happened.”

“Orlie –”

“That’s what you want, right?” I ask.

Our eyes meet across the room. Thunder. More distant this time. Kira remains silent for a moment before nodding slowly. “I guess you’re right. That’s what’s best.”

I run my hand through my hair. I want to shrivel up and die for even thinking there was a chance something could exist between us. I’m not made for love. That much was clear before we started.
