It wasn’t overwhelmed now. We couldn’t move because my knot hadn’t quite deflated enough for me to pull out of her, but she didn’t need me to move. She was sleeping, I realized, with herface pressed against my chest. Apparently she’d gone into a sex coma.

Ry wasn’t sleeping, but he looked totally and utterly relaxed. Like I hadn’t seen him… ever. He normally wasn’t a relaxed guy; he wasn’t built for it. He was always alert, always ready for a fight, and was always at least a little aggressive.

I wasn’t relaxed, although I wanted to be. I was certainly satiated; I felt like I had just had a good fuck, a massage, and some sort of emotional breakthrough at the same moment.

After all, I’d never knotted anyone before, and nobody had prepared me for how incredible and life-changing the sensation was. When I pushed it into her, I’d felt like howling.HadI howled? Not even fucking sure. My mind had been far too busy being blown to a million pieces. My wolf was right on the surface, half-emerged, his jaws sunk into her neck, keeping her still for her knotting and claiming her as his mate just like I was.

Well, there sure as fuck was no going back now.

And under normal circumstances, I would be thinking about a to-do list. I had to get a place big enough for her, big enough for whatever family we’d have. Or I guess we could stay in the mansion? No, we held events here.

At least wedid. I had just left a witch and demon downstairs to duke it out in the ballroom. For all I knew, there was a gaping hole in the ground now where that ballroom used to be.

I eyed the place where we bit her. It was red around the edges, and no one could say it wasn’t a bite mark. Instead of being embarrassed, something in me longed to have her dress in shoulder-less shirts and fucking show it off. She was mine now. Well, ours. Queen of our pack.

Now all I needed to do was make sure she had a pack to be queen of. Things were brewing up.

“Already?” Ry asked in a whisper, looking at me over the head of our mate. “Our dicks aren’t even out of her yet, and you’re already worrying about shit?”

It must have been the expression on my face that made him frustrated.

“Well, I am sorry to say,” I told him, my voice very sarcastic and clipped, “that all of our troubles don’t go away just because we’ve claimed her,” I reminded him.

He made a grunting noise, then looked down at our mate like she was a box of kittens and not a girl that just got a jumpstart to becoming a Lycan herself. It was going to be another rough week for her, I had no doubt.

“Well, the house isn’t on fire,” Ry observed, waving at our room, which wasn’t thick with smoke or flame. “So you think Wendy will be able to perform that thing tonight?”

I shrugged. “No idea.”

“Why would the house be on fire?” Kaci asked sleepily, opening an eye and looking up at me.

I smirked. There was something so adorable about her. I was pretty sure the reason she was popular was the fact that she was oddly approachable. She drew people in naturally. It was those eyes that did it—they were pensive, watchful, like a curious kid’s.

“Don’t worry about it. Just Wendy and Samael are having a spat in the ballroom,” I replied, then shrugged. “They might be still at it for all I know.”

“Can I go see?” she asked, which I hadn’t expected, but then I thought about it: I could see why it might be something to witness a witch and a demon duke it out.

“No, no moving,” Ry said, stilling her hips. “I’m still in you.”

“Well, get the fuck out of me,” she said with annoyance, looking over her shoulder to glare at him, like he was solely responsible for gumming up all of her plans. Suddenly, she looked down and saw the bite marks. “What the fuck is this? Why? What’d you do?”

“Marked you, baby,” I said, because I was getting turned on just looking at that mark on her neck. I bent my neck down and rubbed my tongue over it. I pushed my cock deeper into her and felt more come leak from it. “Oh, my God, this was undersold to me,” I said, closing my eyes at the sensation.

Kaci made a sort of noise that sounded like a cross between a squeal and a moan. I decided it was good; she sounded like she was in good humor.

“What are you talking about? Stop the werewolf jargon,” she demanded.

“I’m not a werewolf, so okay,” was my quick reply, and I chuckled when she whapped me across the chest. Her movement was mostly playful.

“Can you please be serious for a moment? I had a serious night and now a morning where I’m worried if I’m gonna walk funny for the rest of my life,” she exaggerated. “And you just spanked the shit out of me. So I can’t walk, I can’t sit, and I can’t even wiggle, apparently, because Ry is still up my ass. Literally. I don’t want you up there literally, Ry.” She looked over her shoulder toglare at him. “Or figuratively. Or at all. Getout.” She then turned to look at me. “Both of you.”

She made it very hard to be serious.

Ry spread his fingers across her hip and kissed her neck. “You’ve still got my knot, baby. Give me half a second.”

“Gross. Knot like adoghas?” she asked, narrowing her eyes at him, like he should have chosen a different word for it.

“It’s notmyidea,” he replied, a little defensively.
