And me. I wonder what Stella would say.

Emery, standing in front of me with his dark hair, and wicked smile grabs my attention. His height, shining green eyes, and long nose make my heart skip a beat.

My God, he’s breathtaking, even with a tinge of gray at his temples.

The way he often smooths out those spots tells me he’s self-conscious about his hair. I didn’t think a man that good-looking and built, not to mention rich, would have any doubts about himself.

Having a daughter in college makes me wonder about his age, but the lines on his face only add to his utter male beauty.

The MC called me aprize, but Emery calls me sweetheart and Ash calls me baby. Ford twangs with his sugar this and sugar that. Just their voices make me hot.

I don’t know what’s waiting for me back in Los Angeles.

Working for Stella will keep me busy, and I don’t expect I’ll have a lot of time for dating, but even the idea of someone other than these three men touching me cramps my stomach.

“Penny for your thoughts?” Emery says playfully, hijackingmy thoughts.

“Inflation, you know.”

He reaches into his wallet and thumbs through several crisp hundred-dollar bills. “A C-note then? Or two?”

“I don’t want your money.” I stand and smile. “More money, I mean. You’ve paid enough.”

“And let me remind you, you areminethis month.” He brushes a stray hair from my face. “That means I take care of you. If you weren’t staying with Ford, and I wasn’t sharing you, you’d be living with me. I’d be fucking you every night and every morning.”

I’m sure my eyes dilate, and he watches my reaction with pride.

He’s got this auction thing down.

But I’m not falling into his usual pattern. Feeling bratty and playing hard to get, because to these guys I’m catnip, I ask, “Don’t you need to go back to work?”

“I’m the CEO. I come and go as I please.” He jams his hands into his pockets. “You said something about having trouble sketching.”

I’m floored he not only listened, but he remembered. “Um. Yeah.”

“And that all your designs are gone?”

“Yeah. My ex hid them somewhere.” I look around, and this massive city closes in on me as I wonder where the hell they could be. “He got rid of all my supplies, too.”

“What a piece of shit,” Emery hisses. “I know of an art supply store downtown.”

“If you mean Indigo Art Supply...” I lose my breath. “They’re extremely expensive.”

Emery dips an eyebrow at me.

“I believe you have several hundred thousanddollars of my money in your bank account.”

“Most of that is paying Ford. And I hope I have enough.”

“If I know him, he’ll get the case dismissed in a flash, and you’ll have plenty left over.”

“I can’t count on it.” My heart pounds at that fantasy, though. “I just want my designs back and then I can leave.”

“Leave?”

Nodding, I say, “I’m going back to California.”

“Oh,” he replies sadly.
