Page 11 of Returning To Mia

“For what? Not telling little man to go back to his bed so I can be selfish and have his mama all to myself?” I joke because that’s what my cock wants, but I’d never deny my boys access to their mama when they’re not feeling well. Or in Caden’s case, needing his mama’s presence after spending the day at preschool. He and Callen might be twins but they’re polar opposites when it comes to social situations. Callen laps it up, while Caden needs his space, and the safest place for any of our boys, is their mama’s arms.

“For knowing I really want another baby even if I didn’t say it,” she corrects me, and I steal another kiss, before letting her fall asleep, a smile on her lips I adore.

I don’t need a test to know I got my way a couple weeks later, when she rushes to the bathroom instead of reaching for me when she wakes up, but I have her take one anyway, and smile when it’s positive. All of the boys are excited when we tell them there’s going to be a new baby, and when we decide to do a little reveal with the boys, all learning at the same time what it is, not even the ‘aw dangs’ from our oldest bother me.

By the time their baby sister gets here, they’re happy for her to be a girl because their mama is over the moon about it. And seeing our baby girl for the first time, I’m damn glad she’s got six older brothers to keep her safe, because she’s my Mia’s mini-me.

“She’s so little,” Ben says when Samantha brings the boys by to meet her. They’re surrounding the bassinette staring at her in awe, and I drop a kiss onto Mia’s head, chuckling a bit at the expressions.

“She’s awesome,” Brandon says, before looking up at us. “Can I hold her?”

“Yes, just make sure to watch her neck and head,” Mia tells him, and I pick our little Eva up, showing him how to hold her. Dalton laughs when Eva lets out a soft coo, stretching in Brandon’s arms, and I give Mia a wink, proving I was right and that the boys would be wrapped around her finger the way I was with their mama.

“So, are we going to keep her?” I tease, biting my tongue when our now five-year-old boys stomp on my toes as they glare at me. That look on their faces the one that stares back at me in the mirror, or glass when I’m warning some asshole to stay away from my wife without a word.

“Eva’s not going anywhere, is she, daddy?” Mia states, laughing at the expressions in the room. Eva might be Mia’s mini-me, but I have six to protect her. She’ll never have to worry about the darkness out there, just as Mia doesn’t any longer because I’m there to lighten it, and pull her out of any hole, no matter how big or small. The only family I need is this one, the one we made, freely with our love after I was able to return to her.
