I’ve never felt anything like this. Who is this guy? And he’s this into me? How am I so lucky?
All too soon he pulls back, and I can’t tell if his next sentence is a command or a question. “Let’s get out of here.” I nod, and we stop at our booth just fast enough to pay the bill along with a generous tip before heading out into the icy cold night.
The next thing I know, we are in his truck and heading back to my sister’s place. I’m overwhelmed by how strong my feelings of desire are for this man. I don’t care that we just met, all I know is I need his big, calloused hands on my body. I need to feel his soft, firm lips against mine.
Unbuckling my seatbelt, I slide over next to him and get on my knees, turning to face him.
“Marley, that’s not safe, that’s…” He falls silent as I trace the contours of his ear with my tongue before nibbling gently on his lobe. I kiss his neck, enjoying the salty, masculine taste of his skin. I kiss his jaw and relish how his stubble pricks my lips.
I’m so busy kissing his neck and pressing my chest against his shoulder that I don’t realize we are already back at Nash’s place until the truck comes to an abrupt stop. I nearly fall off the seat, but Colton catches me before I do with lightning-fast reflexes.
We both laugh as I relax against the seat, but a weighty silence fills the truck. Our eyes connect, and the unmistakable desire in Colton’s eyes makes my pulse quicken. We move at the same time, reaching for each other as he slides out from under the steering wheel and lifts me onto his lap.
I straddle him, my skirt riding up my thighs. His large hands grip my hips, pulling me against the bulge in his jeans. Without thought I start to rock back and forth, desperate for friction against my center.
He takes my lips with his once again, and all of a sudden it’s way too hot in this truck. Fog covers the windows as we kiss until my lips feel raw. I break for a breath, and his brow furrows.
“What? What’s wrong?”
His hand slides against my cheek, his thumb tracing my upper lip.
"I’m sorry about that. Must be my stubble. Looks like I scraped your skin raw.”
“I don’t mind, Colton.” I tilt my head at him. “In fact, I kinda like it.”
He grins. “Oh really?”
“Yes. I like how rough it feels against my face.” I trace my fingers over the defined muscles of his chest. “Makes you seem like a manly man.”
His chest vibrates as he barks out of a laugh before settling his palms on my waist again. “Can I see you again tomorrow?”
Now it’s my turn to frown. “I’d love that, but I’m supposed to spend the day with my sister.” He nods slowly. “But,” I hold a finger up between us, “I’m sure she wouldn’t mind if we went out again tomorrow night. Does that work?”
“Anything works for you, baby. I’ll text you.” He hands me his phone and I save my number in it before calling myself with it so I’ll have his number.
“Done.” I glance over to Nash and Marley’s front door. It’s dark inside. “Suppose I should head on in.”
Colton lifts me off his lap and gets out, coming around like before to help me out. We walk hand in hand the few paces it takes to get to the front door. I shiver as the wind picks up, whipping my hair into my face.
Colton wraps his arms around me once more. I can’t recall the last time I felt so safe. “I can’t wait to see you again. Sleep well.” He kisses me gently before stepping back with one last long look before turning toward his truck.
I hurry inside and wave before shutting the door. As he drives away I float down the hallway and into my room, collapsing on the bed with a smile that I may never be able to wipe off my face.
Chapter 4
Colton
I wake with a grin, feeling happier than I have in a long time. Reaching for my phone, I’m about to text Marley when I see our family group text between my brothers and Elise with dozens of texts from last night. I scroll back to the beginning and read it, laughing to myself.
Damien:
Brodie and I are at the Saloon and you won’t believe who we just spotted here. With a girl!

And she smokin’ hot, too
