I should've kept my head down and stayed focused on the job. If I had done that I wouldn't be in this position.

I finish my project assignment then make my way to the store and pick up a pregnancy test. Afterward, I drive to Weston's place. He's already at the door as I approach, opening it with a knowing look.

The moment I step inside, the comforting scent of chicken piccata wafts through the air, bringing a smile to my face. "My favorite," I say with a smile.

"I had the chef prepare it. I knew today was rough for you, so I thought you'd enjoy your favorite meal for dinner," he says.

I move closer to him and loop my arms around his neck. "Thank you, baby," I whisper against his lips before pressing a soft kiss to them. But before we can get carried away, he pulls back. "Let's do the pregnancy test first," he suggests.

I agree with a nod, and he leads me upstairs to the bathroom. He gives me an encouraging smile before I close the door.

After taking the test, I cap it and hesitantly walk back to where Weston is waiting. My hands are shaking too much to read the result, so I hand it to him. "We'll handle whatever it says," he reassures me.

I exhale deeply and set a two-minute timer on my phone, the seconds dragging on endlessly. But before the timer, even dings, the screen on the test lights up with one word: pregnant.

"We're pregnant, Quinn," Weston announces.

My eyes go wide in disbelief. "Are you serious?" I stutter just as the timer goes off.

I quickly silence it, my mind racing with questions, especially how I could be far enough along for such a quick result. I meet Weston's gaze; he's the picture of calm.

"Weston, I'm freaking out. How is this going to work when I move back to Cali?" I ask, the reality of the situation beginning to sink in.

"You're not moving back to California," he says simply.

"So you're going to choose for me?"

"Yes, I am," he responds, his blue gaze locking onto mine.

"No, you're not," I challenge him.

"Yes, I fucking am. Your choice to move back was taken off the table the second you started carrying my child."

I turn away, feeling a mix of emotions. He's got a point. I do want to be with him, but I also want to make my own decisions. Then, I feel his strong arms around me.

"Look, Quinn," he says more gently, "it's either you stay here, or I go with you. You belong with me."

"What about your company?" I ask, thinking about everything at stake.

"Life before you doesn't matter anymore," he says. "I can't be without you or our baby. So, we either stay here or move to California together."

I think hard about it. I never really saw myself living in Montana forever, but it's not so bad now that I'm here. I'd miss California, but what about his company? He's got a shit ton of money, but what happens when that runs out eventually years down the road? I want our kid to have the best life, and that means his business needs to continue to thrive.

I turn around and look him in the eyes. "I'll stay," I decide.

His smile is immediate, and I can feel his relief. "You're sure?" he asks.

I nod. "I'll need to collect the rest of my things from my old apartment. After that, I'll move in with you."

He holds my face in his hands. "You're making the best choice," his hand moves down to rest on my belly. "For us."

WESTON

"Greig, you sure you can manage the place for a week?" I ask, not pausing my organizing.

He leans against the doorframe, arms folded, a grin playing at the corners of his mouth. "Weston, have a little faith. I've got this."
