On Monday, we served sauteed sweetbreads, bruschetta, salad, and baked potatoes.

Tuesday was a tofu stir-fry with peppers and onions, rice, and salad. Seeing bikers eating a vegan meal will forever be engrained in my brain. I’m pretty sure no one liked it, but it was fucking hilarious to watch their faces.

Wednesday was beef tongue, mushrooms, rice, and baked potatoes.

Thursday was a vegan lentil curry, rice, salad, and roasted broccoli and shallots.

Today is Friday and I’m pretty sure I’m going to piss off all of them, but I swear they’ll be happy in the long run. Though I’ve decided that tonight will be the last of their ‘punishment’. Tomorrow we’ll go back to regular meals.

Sasha and I are outside manning the grills. The rest of the ladies are cooking up our surprise in the kitchen. We’ve closed the pass-through and created a ‘wall’ of curtains using PVC pipes so the guys can’t see into the kitchen.

We only have a few more minutes on the grill, and then we’ll be ready for supper.

“Sasha, give me a couple minutes and I’ll come out with the large serving pans after checking in with the other women.”

“???????.”

Quickly, I slip inside and, making sure none of the men are peeking, I open the curtain, enter the kitchen, and close it again.

“How’s it going, ladies? We’re almost done out there.”

“They finished resting about five minutes ago and we’re almost done cutting them up. The au jus sauce is in that pan, ready to go, and the veggies have…” Roxy says and then pauses as she looks at the oven timer. “Three minutes left to go. Mashed potatoes n’ gravy are already ready, and the prospects are filling the coolers with beer.”

Thank God we have four ovens, otherwise, this would have been a nightmare.

The backdoor opens and I hear Sasha calling out for me.

“Okay ladies, the first round is done so we’ll get that ready. Keep going and when all of us are done, we’ll get the guys in the backyard.”

They all voice their agreement as I pull four serving pans out from the closet as well as the aluminum foil.

Rushing back outside, I quickly help Sasha get the meat off the grill before we tent them and carry them inside.

“Hey Wildcat?” Thor calls out from the common room.

“Ladies keep going. I’m going to see what Thor wants. It’s probably our guest.”

Giggles fill the room and it’s hard to keep a smile off my face as I quickly go out into the common room.

“What’s up, hun?”

“Ethan says there’s a guy here to see you? Name’s Carter?”

“Oh yes! He’s the new vet in town. He put up a few fliers around town asking for donations for the animals that get surrendered for various reasons. I told him to stop by and I’d see what we could find for him.”

“Wildcat,” Thor growls.

“What?” I say innocently.

“This better not be a ploy to get us to agree to adopt a dog.”

Shit, why didn’t I think of that as an excuse?

“No, no, it’s not. Though I really do want one,” I say as I bat my eyes at him. He curses under his breath and I have to bite my cheek to keep from laughing.

He stomps out the front door, and I rush back into the kitchen. The ladies help me carry the serving pans out to the common room and the rest of the ladies follow us.

We’ve just set them in place when Thor comes in, followed by Carter.
