“Fuckers, the both of you,” he grumbles, but pauses as he looks toward the main room when laughter breaks out and then looks back at us. “She seems a nice girl and already I can tell that she’s perfect for you both. Don’t fuck it up.”
With that, he grabs his laptop and heads out to the main room, with both of us staring after him in shock.
“I don’t think I’ve ever heard Smoke say anything remotely positive about a woman before,” Dragon says as he shakes his head in disbelief.
Sighing, I shake my head. “Not my story to tell, but there’s a reason behind why he steers clear of women.” Clapping him on the shoulder, I pick up Smoke’s bag. “Come on. Let’s go and get our woman.”
Heading out into the main room, I pause by the bar and take in the scene. Everyone’s laughing at something Sasha and Levi are saying. Grinning at Dragon, we both make our way over to her.
My stomach’s a ball of knots when everyone goes into Church. Even though I’d given permission, I still don’t like that all the patched members will know that part of my past. I didn’t want them treating me with kids’ gloves after this or looking at me with pity. However, I wanted them to be safe if Fang came here, so I swallowed my pride for their safety.
“So, how long have you guys known each other?” Colt asks, and as I look at the four people who I consider my siblings, the five of us grin.
We go on to tell him about growing up together, and of course, the conversation eventually steers to embarrassing stories. Sasha turns to Alexei and grins mischievously. Shit… What are they going to dig up now?
“Remember when Levi served us her first drink at the bar?” She wiggles her eyebrows at me, and I groan loudly, covering my face as I feel my cheeks heating from embarrassment.
“Seriously? You guys have to bring this one up?”
They laugh and I groan again, my head falling back against the couch.
“Before opening that night, she was nervous even though she’d been slinging drinks whenever we would get together. All four of us were there for her. What she didn’t know was a new guy started a few days prior,” Alexei starts.
“Dante,” I say with another groan.
“Right, Dante. So, earlier in the day, Roy had him stock the liquor shelf. Levi starts mixing us a drink, but runs out. She grabs the next bottle in line and finishes making our drinks,” Sasha says.
“Oh, no…” Colt starts, and I nod, lifting my head off the back of the couch.
“Yeah. Turns out Dante didn’t pay too much attention to the labels and put an ouzo bottle in with the vodka bottles. They were both clear, both had foreign words on them, and the bottle size and shapes were similar. Everyone took huge swigs of the drink because it’s one I always make for them. Needless to say, they were sputtering and soon I was wearing their alcohol.”
We’re all laughing by now, including me, even with still being embarrassed by the story.
“I hate the taste of ouzo,” Sasha said with a grimace as she wrinkles her nose.
Alexei gags at the memory. “We’re Russian, so don’t ever mess with our vodka.”
“You all had so much to drink trying to get the ouzo taste out of your mouths. I still haven’t forgiven you for ruining my favorite hoodie, Sash.” I give her a mock glare and then wink. I don’t give a shit about that old, ragged hoodie, and they knew it. We all laugh harder.
“I had forgotten about that! Sasha threw up in Roy’s car on the way back to your house and the hoodie caught the brunt of it,” Ethan said between fits of laughter.
“Yeah, so after I got all your sorry asses into your rooms and the guest rooms, I had to clean it up and then had to take care of your hungover asses the next morning. Dante got an ass chewing for mixing up the drinks, and I always look at every label, even if it is in the same row.”
“Yeah, but you love us,” Travis says as he gives me puppy dog eyes and leans over on my shoulder. I roll my eyes, still chuckling.
“Yeah, I do, but sometimes I really wonder why.”
I laugh again as I smack the bill of his ball cap so it hit his nose and then twist his nipple since he can’t see me. This causes another bought of laughter just as the door opens and everyone starts filing out of Church.
“What’s so funny, little ninja?” Bear asks before he leans down and kisses the top of my head. We gave him a highlight overview. A few more guys have joined us by then and start laughing with us.
Out of the corner of my eye, I see my men walking over to me and I can’t stop the smile that breaks out across my face. I bite my lip when I see the heat in their eyes. Damn, I hope we can get more alone time today because I definitely need them again. They both lean down and gave me quick, but heated, kisses.
“How are you doing, Spitfire?” Dragon sits down to the left of me, and I chuckle when he pulls me onto his lap. Thor sits down where I was previously and beams at me as he pulls my legs up onto his lap.
“Good. We were just getting to know one another a bit more and, of course, the twins had to share a few stories.” I mock glare at them again, but they just smile in return. “What’s in the bag?”
“Smoke gave us some equipment to help us go through your stuff, Wildcat. But before that, let us introduce you to the rest of our brothers.”
