“Yeah, but there are other ways of getting her into the basement!”
“I completely agree. I mean, they asked me to be their Old Lady and to marry them today and I said yes to both! Even if my guess is right, I was so fucking embarrassed and humiliated that he could do that today, of all days.
“Every one of them talks about how much they respect each other, but I feel fucking disrespected right now. How could he even think of doing that with her, even if it was just a ploy to get her into the interrogation room? Even if he never meant for me to see what he did, he could have at least told me what he was going to do instead of finding out about it this way. Why could they have just told me what was going to happen? Then I wouldn’t have been disrespected and embarrassed in front of their club, and who knows how many people from town?”
I close my eyes and will my tears to not fall. I feel her get off the couch and then I hear her in the kitchen. When I hear the sound of something heavy being set down on the coffee table, I open my eyes and groan.
“I can’t drink Sash,” I say automatically before I realize my mistake. “Fuck…”
Her eyes narrow and I avoid looking at her.Fuck me and my big mouth.
“And exactlywhycan’t you drink?”
Sighing, I know there’s no way out of this. She can be fucking annoying if she knows you’re keeping a secret from her.
“If I tell you, you have to promise not to say anything.” She rolls her eyes. “I mean it Sash! If word gets out before we’re ready to announce it, it could seriously mess up our plan to get Fang and Sean.”
She huffs and holds her hand over her heart as she holds out her pinky finger on her other hand. I hook my pinky finger with hers as I place my hand over my heart and look at her expectantly. We’ve been making pledges like this to each other since we were kids.
“Fine, I, Sasha Petrov, swear not to tell another soul unless you give me permission to do so.”
She drops her hand and now she is the one who’s giving me the expectant look.
“I’m pregnant.”
As soon as the words are out of my mouth, I automatically cover my ears right before she releases an eardrum-shattering squeal. Sometimes I swear this girl’s gonna make me go deaf.
Then she pulls me up and gives me a bone-crushing hug. When she finally releases me, a laugh escapes as she dances around the room excitedly before she comes to an abrupt halt.
“Wait… do Thor and Dragon know?”
My stomach feels queasy and I sink back down on the couch. “Yeah, they were with me when I found out.”
“So… when you three went up for sexy times and then you came back down engaged?”
My face flames and I seriously hope no one heard us.
Sasha laughs. “Don’t worry, no one heard anything. You just had the look of someone who’s been freshly fucked.”
When she plops down next to me, I can tell she’s angry, but I’m no longer worried that she’ll sink a blade into him. Well, maybe a little worried.
“That makes what Dragon did even worse.”
“Yeah, it does,” I whisper and angrily swipe away a tear that escapes.
“So, why are you waiting to tell everyone about the baby?”
“If we announce both, we’re worried Fang will lose his shit and come after me right away. If that happens, Sean will most likely be in the wind while he plots his next move. We need to get them together if at all possible. Our plan is to announce our baby news the day after Sean’s released, which just so happens it’s the weekend of our throwing competition with Reaper’s crew.”
“X????o. You’ll have better protection with his crew here.”
I nod and go back to twirling my blade.
A few minutes pass before she gets up, picks up the beers, and heads back into the kitchen. My hand falls to my stomach. Today’s been a fucking roller coaster and right now, I can barely keep from marching back into the clubhouse and demanding to know what the hell’s going on.
I’m not sure how much time passes but I’m pulled from my thoughts as Sasha places a huge bowl of popcorn in my lap and sets down a couple of glasses of orange juice on the coffee table.
“Let’s watch a movie and forget about tonight for a little bit. What do you wanna watch?”
