I pull her closer to me and she leans her head against my shoulder as we listen to the women talk. She takes one of my hands and threads her fingers through mine. With my other hand, I run my fingers up and down her back. She sighs and snuggles deeper into me.

We sit there like that for about an hour, talking, when a yawn escapes her.

“Tired, Sunshine?”

She nods and another yawn escapes.

“That’s our cue. We’ll see you in the morning, Mae,” Levi says, and the others get up. I stand and sit Mae back down, praying she’ll let us take care of this last part. Thankfully, she nods as she leans back against the chair. She’s so tired she’s about to conk out. If her mind will let her, that is. We put the fire out and they toss their empty bottles, saying good night.

Picking Mae back up, I head in through the back door.

“Your house is gorgeous, Liam. I looked around downstairs earlier. I’m absolutely in love with your kitchen,” she says, and then another yawn escapes her.

Pride runs through me that she loves the house so far. Though if there’s anything she doesn’t like, I’ll change it, no matter what it is.

Entering the living room, I see her bags on the sofa, and I set her down. I pick up the shopping bags and when she takes her other bags, I lead her to the stairs.

“I’ve got four other bedrooms up here besides the master. You can take your pick of where you want to sleep.”

I wish like fuck she’d be in my arms tonight, even if I can only hold her. I know she isn’t ready to go further right now, especially if she is as innocent as I think she is.

She peeks into each room and chooses the room next to mine. Setting the shopping bags on the bed, I pull her into my arms.

“Let me know if you need anything, Sunshine. Sleep well.” Leaning down, I give her delectable lips a kiss. She melts into me, and it takes everything in me to pull away. Resting my forehead on hers, I take a deep breath.

“Goodnight, Sunshine.”

Something flickers in her eyes that I can’t read, but I’m loving how pink her cheeks are.

“Goodnight, Liam.”

As I watch Liam leave my room to head to his, it’s surprising how much I want to ask him to stay or to ask if I can stay in his room. Not to have sex, but just to keep feeling his arms around me. Is it weird that I feel so safe and comfortable around him in such a short amount of time?

I think back to what I asked the ladies before Liam came home. Both Levi and Sasha said that they fell quickly for their men, and it was the same for the guys. Quick as in the same day they met them, they agreed to be with them. Though I guess that’s what I’ve done. I said I wanted to get to know Liam better, and he’s already told me he wants me as his Old Lady.

Even though I didn’t ask them about it, and I had no intentions to, they confirmed what Liam said earlier about not being with the bunnies for a long time. Every time one of the bunnies would try to have sex with him or offer to suck his... um, member... he would push them off him.

Shaking my head, I walk over to the bed and start going through the bags. As I do, I look around the room a bit more. This room is gorgeous. But what am I saying? His whole house is gorgeous.

The walls are painted a pale blue color. There’s a queen bed with a fluffy white bedspread and a couple of pillows in various shades of blue. The nightstands and dresser are stained a light shade of oak. The closet doors are open and I’m surprised that it’s a walk-in closet. And just like Liam said, there’s a safe bolted to the floor. There’s a full bathroom attached as well. Though I’m seriously eyeing that claw-foot tub. If I weren’t so tired, I’d take a bath. Last time I was able to do enjoy a bath, since the trailer only has a small shower stall, was when I was staying at my grandparents’ house about a month before they died.

The other three rooms are similar in size, but they all have twin beds. Two of the bedrooms share a Jack-and-Jill bathroom and the third has its own full bathroom. They are all similarly decorated too.

As for downstairs, it has an open floor plan that I absolutely love. Liam’s office is downstairs and there is another spare bedroom down there as well with its own full-sized bathroom. In the living room, a couple of leather couches and a leather recliner surround a large TV that’s mounted on the wall, which I wasn’t surprised by. I mean, he is a single guy and even I know how much most guys love big TV’s.

The kitchen is huge with double ovens, a gas stove, a large island with a farmer’s sink, and a large pantry. There’s a dining room off to the side that would be perfect for holiday dinners. But what I really love is that you can see into the living room from the kitchen, which would be nice for whenever I’m cooking and the kids are watching TV.

Whoa.

I freeze, the clothing in my hands falling to the bed.

Kids? I mean, I’ve always wanted them someday. But who am I kidding? It’s way too soon to be thinking about kids. ... Isn’t it? I mean, I have no idea if Liam even wants kids. Or wants them with me.

Sighing, I turn my attention back to my clothes. Thankfully, Sasha bought me some decent pajamas so that I won’t have to wear the ones I brought with me. I’ll need to ask Liam or the girls if they can take me shopping tomorrow. I’m more than ready to get rid of my baggy clothes and get things that actually fit my body.

Removing the tags, I put the clothes in the dresser. I’ll wash them tomorrow, but I don’t want to leave them all out.

Emptying my backpack, I take Mom’s notebooks, the folder, and my money over to the closet and set them down by the safe. Remembering that I only have a few pages left to read, I pull out the last journal and quickly read the entries.
