Sighing again, I rest my forehead against his chest. “Me, too. I have a sneaky suspicion that she’s going to be a rabble-rouser.”
Liam chuckles again and kisses the top of my head. “Fuck, I love your version of swearing, Sunshine.”
Smiling, I pull back and start getting dressed again. When Liam tucks himself back into his jeans, I immediately wish I could have seen him naked. Actually.
“Next time we do this, you’re getting undressed. I want to see you and those beautiful tattoos. It’s not fair that I was the only one to get naked.”
“I’ll hold you to that, Sunshine.” The huskiness in his tone has me shivering in anticipation. My gaze roams his body, wondering what he looks like under all those clothes.
Liam groans. “Sunshine, as much as I love that look on you, if you keep looking at me like that, we’ll be going a lot further than oral and heavy petting. We gotta talk, baby.”
This time it’s my turn to groan and I sit down on his bed. Liam sits down next to me but lifts me up and sets me down on his lap so I’m straddling him.
“Okay. What do you want to talk about?”
“First is, I know I told you I want you as my Old Lady, but I never asked. Will you be?”
Wrapping my arms around his neck, I kiss him. “Of course, I’ll be your Old Lady. I’m surprised at how quickly I fell in love with you, but I’m not going to fight it.”
He grins and gives me another kiss. “Good, because I had Tripp order your cut earlier this morning. It should be done right before Levi, Thor, and Dragon’s wedding. The other thing I wanted to talk to you about was Smoke.”
Immediately, my body tenses and my heart clenches.
God, it hurts so much to remember how he reacted and treated me yesterday and this morning. Fudger nuggets on a stick... I really didn’t want to think about that right now.
Liam sighs. “Based on that look, I think I already know the answer to my question, but I’m gonna ask anyway. Reaper’s offer still stands for if we’d like to stay at his clubhouse for a while. We can drive back before the wedding and see how things are then. Not to mention, Punisher said he’d like to introduce you to his parents. Axe does too.”
Nibbling my lip, I debate my options. My shoulders slump and I sigh. “I don’t want it to look like I’m running away, but space may be what we need. Plus, with Preston showing up today at the mall, that means he was probably following us earlier. Getting out of town might help, but I don’t know if he’ll just follow us there.”
“That was one of our concerns, too. We’ll know he’s keeping tabs on you if he shows up in Junction Creek. In case he had a tracker on your old phone, we tossed it after making sure everything was transferred onto your new one. We actually have a few devices that can tell if something’s bugged. If you want, we can check what you brought with you as a precaution. We found out the stalker that was after Levi had tagged a bunch of her shit and clothes. Fuck, I heard he had a listening device in every one of her bras.”
My eyes widen at that, and I lick my lips nervously. “Can we check my stuff? I doubt Preston would do that. He’s not the brightest, but then again, Bruce or that X guy could have done something when I wasn’t home. Even Phillip.”
“Yeah, Sunshine. We’ll get the devices in a bit. So, should I tell Reaper yes?”
My heart clenches again, but I nod. “Yes, I’d like to take him up on his offer. Plus, I really would like to meet Punisher’s parents. I’d like to introduce you to Peggy and Glen, too. Maybe I could see if they’d come over sometime around the wedding so I can introduce Axe and Punisher to them as well.”
“I bet if you ask Levi, she’d let you invite them to the wedding. Since she’s your aunt now, I’m betting she’d like to meet the people who helped her niece all those years.
“I will. Might as well ask when we get to her house since I need to get my stuff out of Levi’s car. Oh, and borrow some sculpting mud from Sasha.”
