Dragon gives him a chin lift. “Change and I’ll go do the same. Meet you down there in ten.”
Jax returns the chin lift, and I go over and hug him. “You’ll get through this. I know you will.” He hugs me back and kisses the top of my head.
“Thanks, kiddo,” he whispers, though I can tell he’s still tense as hell. I just hope sparring with Dragon will help him.
I shut the door as we all leave his room and Thor pulls me into his arms.
“They’ll get through this, Wildcat. We’ll all be there for them, but they’re gonna get through this.”
Sighing, I nod. I hope they do because if Mae chooses to stay away permanently, even if Timber transfers to Andre’s club, it’ll kill Jax. And I don’t know if anyone will be able to pull him back from the ledge if that happens.
Not even me.
The sun peeks through the window and I groan. Why didn’t I close my curtains last night?
I try to move but there’s a heavy weight over my side and I freeze for a moment before relaxing as everything comes back to me. I’m not in my dingy trailer bedroom anymore. I’m with Liam.
Sighing happily, I snuggle back under the blankets, taking comfort in his warmth.
“You okay, Sunshine?”
Oh lordy. Liam’s gruff voice when he wakes up shoots straight through me.
Turning, I bite my lip as I nod. “Yeah. It’s just for a moment, I forgot where I was. That it was all a dream, and I was back in that trailer.”
His hand comes up and cups my cheek before gently rubbing his thumb across it. I find myself leaning into his touch without even realizing it.
“Definitely not a fucking dream,” he says quietly as he leans over and kisses me, but this isn’t like any of his other kisses. It’s sweet and soft yet also passionate. I melt against him and he groans, rolling me over till I’m on my back and he’s over me.
My legs open on instinct and a moan escapes me when he grinds himself against my core.
“Fuck, I love waking up with you in my arms, Sunshine.” He peppers kisses down my jaw and then down my neck as one of his hands roams down my side, teasing my nipple through the material.
My hips roll and I moan as he grinds himself against me harder before biting down where my neck meets my shoulders.
“Liam!”
I’m about to combust when he pulls back, scoots off the bed and tugs me to the end of it before scooping me up in his arms.
A shriek escapes at the quick action, and his chest rumbles with laughter.
“You’re not coming without me being able to taste you, Sunshine, but I want to do it a little differently this time.”
He walks into the attached bathroom and sets me down on the counter. Seeing my hair tie, I quickly put my hair up into a bun to keep it from getting wet.
He turns on the shower and then his lips are back on mine as his hands roam my body.
“Liam,” I plead, even though I’m not sure what I want. My heart and body say go for it, but my head is still holding me back by a thread.
“I got you, Sunshine.”
He lifts the hem of my shirt, and I raise my hands so he can remove it. His hands go to my waist and I lift myself up a bit to allow him to lower my shorts and panties.
“Fuck, you’re so fucking sexy, Sunshine.”
His mouth latches onto a nipple and my hands go to his head, holding him there. He chuckles, and a moan escapes at feeling the vibrations. My core aches, needing more.
