He wanted to pull her into his arms and kiss the living daylights out of her, but he knew better. If he ruined all the work that she'd put into looking the way she did, Frankie would give him hell.

He rubbed a hand over his jaw. "I need a few minutes to shower and change."

"Take your time." She smiled. "There is no rush. Do you want me to pour you a drink in the meantime?"

"No, thanks. I had enough whiskey at the party. I'm going to stick to water and juice for the rest of the night."

"As you wish." She walked over to the bar, sashaying her hips. "I'm making myself a gin and tonic."

Stuck looking at her shapely ass, he was rooted in place until she looked at him with a raised brow.

"I'm going." He tore his eyes away from her and forced his feet to take him to the bathroom.

After a quick shower, Dagor changed into his tux, and as he combed his hair, he caught himself humming and smiling at his reflection in the mirror.

It was the Frankie effect.

She brought a sense of excitement and happiness to his life that he hadn't known he was missing. Adjusting his bowtie in the mirror, he took a deep breath and squared his shoulders.

"You look good," she said as he entered the living room, her eyes roaming over him. "Really good."

"Thank you." He extended his arm to her. "Shall we?"

"We shall." As Frankie took his arm, her touch sent a familiar thrill through him, and he wondered whether it would always be like that.

Dagor offered a prayer to the Fates to give him a chance to find out by allowing Frankie to transition.

When they entered the festively decorated dining hall, Frankie gasped. "Look at this. It's Wonder Woman themed."

The tablecloths alternated between red, white, and blue, and a gold sash was draped over their middles. The chair covers were similarly color-themed, with a gold bow tied at each. A gold eagle symbol inside a red circle was projected onto the ceiling.

It was a lovely tribute to Wonder Woman, honoring Anandur's bride-to-be.

Toven and his mate entered right behind them and paused to join in admiring the decor.

"They really went all out with the theme," Mia commented, her eyes taking in the festive decorations. "It looks very patriotic."

"Right." Dagor swept his gaze over the room. "I just realized that the colors also represent the United States flag."

Soft music played in the background, and Dagor wondered whether it also had anything to do with Wonder Woman.

As Toven and Mia continued to their table, Dagor and Frankie joined Aru, Gabi, and Negal.

"You look amazing," Gabi told Frankie. "Where did you get this stunning dress?"

Frankie chuckled. "From my cousin Angelica, who got it in a thrift store. It's supposed to be some famous designer's, but the label was cut off, so it might have been a story the store owner told my cousin."

"It's absolutely stunning."

"Thank you." Frankie beamed.

Dagor loved that she was so confident and comfortable in her own skin that she didn't feel the need to impress anyone with anything other than the power of her personality and herexuberance. She wasn't embarrassed about wearing a borrowed dress that came from a thrift store.

She was proud of it.

In fact, he loved everything about her, from her tiny feet clad in sky-high heels to the tip of her head and the elaborate coif that Mia had twisted her hair into.

"Let's make a toast." Dagor reached for the bottle of champagne, uncorked it, and poured the bubbly into everyone's glasses. He raised his and waited until everyone at their table followed. "To the lovely couple getting married tonight, to my friends, old and new, and to Frankie, who brings light and joy into my life."
