The man’s words held no malice, just disappointment. It worked. Hope and Xavier nodded their compliance, heads bowed, and he sent them on their way. For the remainder of the ride they were well behaved. For the most part. Hope talking dirty in his ear did little to quell the roaring erection in his pants.Leaving the wheel, Xavier had to walk with a stoop. She was a woman of many talents. Many, many talents.

When they’d reached a hotdog stand, Hope pointed at his crotch, and said, “One.”

“One? One what?”

“It is illegal in the state of Indiana to be sexually aroused in public. That’s one law broken.”

A deep sigh emanated from her lips. “I’m thinking it’s going to be quite some time before we break the other—what with Mister Morals manning the Ferris wheel, we couldn’t break the oral sex law.”

Xavier squinted. “You’re evil.”

Hope shrugged and looked adorable.

Xavier attempted to think of baseball, but knowing very little about the game, failed miserably. Cricket was his bag. When he imagined Hope in nothing more than an Australian cricket jersey, he abandoned that line of thinking altogether.

He took in the various sideshows and games. A thought struck. A mischievous, naughty and downright perverted thought. He acted on it immediately.

“Wait here.”

“For?”

“Inspiration?”

“I was pretty inspired on the Ferris wheel, to be honest.”

“Trust me.”

Leaving a confused looking Hope behind, Xavier found the man he was searching for. It was getting late, and the sideshow crowds were thinning out, winding down for the night. Diehard teens laughed and ran about, but most of the families had cleared off.

Making his way back to Hope, he flashed her his Cheshire Cat smile.

“Come on, I’ve booked us on another adventure.”

“I love an adventure.”

“Follow me.”

He took her by the hand and led her to the sideshow emblazoned withCrazy Barry’s House of Mirrors.

“What—”

Before she finished the sentence, Xavier pushed her in. As he entered, he gave the proprietor, assumedly Barry of the title, a curt handshake of thanks.

Hope stood in the centre of hundreds of mirrors, her luscious body reflecting back at Xavier from every angle. He took a moment to enjoy the view.

“There’s no one in here.”

“There won’t be. I booked it out. For us.”

“He shut it down for you?”

“Well, it wasn’t quite that easy. I asked what he’d usually make for the rest of the night and doubled it.”

“How long have we got, Mister Moneybags?”

“As long as we need.”

“I think I just came a little.” Hope giggled and didn’t seem able to stop.
