"I started with almost nothing, you know. Just renting one small studio where I could do really small group classes and one-on-one lessons. Then it grew and grew, and my client base got so big I was able to upgrade. Eventually, I ended up here with this fitness center. I love it." I smile at him, and his blue eyes stare warmly into mine. I wonder what he is thinking. Briefly, my eyes are on his lips. The images of him in the shower fluster my thoughts and I look away quickly, hoping he cannot read my mind.

"You really are something amazing, Gabi," Alex says.

I scrunch my nose, eyeing him out. Why is he being so nice? Is it all just because of the alcohol. This feels almost unreal.

Searching around near the back of the gym we find nothing at all. I latch the doors closed and say, "Well the last place it might be is in the locker rooms. If someone picked it up from the gym floor, they might have brought it in there? I don't know, but it is worth a look?"

He nods, looking down at me. "I will follow you. Lead the way." Again, his hand is on my back and again I feel the heat of it run through my body.

We enter the women's locker room, a big room with lockers running down both side walls. There are wooden benches near the lockers and showers in the back. I move from locker to locker checking inside each one. Alex moves along the opposite wall doing the same thing as me. I watch him casually make his way through each locker and close it again when he finds it empty. My thoughts are on his body. His smile. The sexy way he looks at me.

Finally, we reach the end of the line of lockers, and I feel frustrated.

It feels as though we have been looking forever and I can't think of anywhere else the jacket might me. I turn to look at Alex and shrug. "I'm really sorry. I don't know where else to look. I can ask the grounds man tomorrow if he has spotted anything."

Alex does not seem in the slightest bit worried. "Ugh - it's alright. I guess it will show up eventually." He moves towards me, then hesitates. "Thanks for helping me look for it." He says.

"No problem at all. I am sure it will show up." I say while heading towards the doors. When I get there, I expect them to swing open, when I walk into them, but instead, I thud hard into them, and the doors do not budge.

I push again, harder. Nothing.

"Shit," I say, feeling the side pocket of my gym pants. Alex is going to be furious "Shit - shit - um - Alex have you got your phone? I left mine at the reception desk and - well - I think we got locked inside."

"Locked inside?" He says curiously, not looking as phased as I thought he would be.

"Yes. I guess the grounds manwasstill here. He must have locked the door from the outside. But if you have your phone, I do know his number. My receptionist also has a spare set of keys, and I can call her. Sorry, this is so embarrassing." I talk fast, feeling nervous.

His eyebrows rise up and he stares at me for a second and then says coolly, "I left my phone in the car."

"Really?" I say in disbelief. How can this be happening? "This is so bad. They will not be back here until tomorrow morning. I have no way of contacting anyone. I don't know what to do. "I feel a little panicked, scared of how Alex will react to hearing that we are stuck in here for the entire night. This is a horrible situation and I feel my cheeks beginning to glow red with embarrassment.

Instead of freaking out though, Alex laughs out loud. "We are locked in for the entire night?" He says, with a dark chuckle.

"Yes. No one knows we are here, Alex. I guess they thought we had left. I don't know."Why is he laughing?

"I have been locked in worse places overnight."

"Really?" I say, a little shocked. Looking around in confusion, trying to figure out some way we might get out. "When?" I ask.

"I was in the military for several years. You get into trouble sometimes. This is luxury compared to that." He gestures around the room.

How is he not even in the slightest bit phased?

Then, without warning, Alex moves to stand next to me. He is so close I can feel the heat of his body. He reaches out, his hand on my hip. He whispers, "I actually can't imagine a better place to be locked up or a better person to be with." My heart begins to beat faster in my chest. My body starts to tingle.

He leans down and kisses me.

I wrap my arms around his neck and stand on my tiptoes. His lips are warm against mine and his tongue dances lightly across my lips. I pull him down towards me and kiss him harder. Suddenly I don't care that we are locked in here. Suddenly all I can think about is his body and that I want his naked skin against mine.

CHAPTER 10

ALEX

We are standing in the locker room. I feel really bad for making her look around the gym for such a long time. I should tell her it does not matter or something and that I can buy Bella a new jacket. But I also don't want this time to end. I want to spend as much time with her as possible. I feel sneaky and naughty, knowing that I have not been honest about the jacket. But it is too late now so I keep looking with her.

I stare into each empty locker and then open the next one, knowing it will be just as empty. I keep glancing back at Gabi. She stands on her tiptoes to see into the row of lockers near the top. Her calf muscles flex when she does this, and her body stretches out in beautiful ways. She is gorgeous and I keep thinking about how and when I can kiss her. We have been alone for quite some time now and really, I could have done it at any moment already. It just did not feel right yet. But I can feel the tension in myself growing. A hunger of sorts. I want to kiss her. Now. Soon. I want to do so much more than kiss her.

Gabi turns to me looking flustered.
