“Wow,” I began while clapping my hands. “You really learned a lot from my sister.”

“No, actually, in fact the opposite. I bet you don’t even know how frustrated you make your sister. You don’t care, do you?”

“Now she’s lecturing me about my relationship with my family. What a moment.”

Lucy scoffed and shook her head. “Lecture you? I am not that patient enough to go through such rigorous, mental torture just to bring you to reason.”

“Enough!!!” I shouted, making a few yard workers around us look jump. But not Lucy. The entire time, she kept looking at me with her beautiful blue eyes, which infuriated me more. “No one speaks to me like that.”

She shook her head. “I am sorry, but if you think it’s okay to speak to me this way, then I am going to give it right back to you.”

I smiled and began to walk closer to her.

“It seems my sister did not inform you well about me or give you a clue of the things that I am capable of,” I said and continued walking close while she stood there, unmoving, staring at me as I was now barely inches from her. “Do you know I can make you disappear, and nobody will bat an eye?”

I could see the way her breast rose and fell as she spoke with excitement, and it sent fire through my body, down to my loins.

Lucy giggled and folded her arms, her gaze not moving from mine. “Ohh, I am afraid.”

“More people have been dealt with for lesser insults against my person.” I continued, trying hard to bring fear into her, but the more I tried, the more she looked at me with disdain and pity.

“You do look cute when you are angry.”

That threw me off guard.

I stepped backward and deepened my frown. “What did you just say?”

“I made an observation, but I guess you must have heard that all the time because you just won’t stop getting angry for no reason.”

I sighed and turned away from her. My earlier thought about nobody coming close to having my sister’s guts have been destroyed by Lucy with not a care in the world.

“Are you shy?” she said, a tone of laughter in her voice while a blush crept up my neck.

I bent my head and dug my hands into my pockets, trying as much as I could to control my temper from the loose, beautiful girl.

A few seconds later, I felt an arm on my shoulder it was slender, warm, and belonged to no other but Lucy. I tried to shake it off but stopped midway, her hands felt like a soothing balm on my body, warm and gentle, but seconds later, she removed it, and it felt like a light was switched off inside me.

“Ella said when you are angry, you used to shake with rage. You aren’t shaking now, so I guess that was a good thing.”

“Christ!!!” I turned toward her, my hands reaching her shoulders, but she moved away in time, forcing me to grab air.

I cursed and pointed at her, “You have insulted me more than I have ever been my whole life.”

“The cute face again.” She giggled, folding her hands, “I might be forced to look at that face for the rest of my life without getting tired.”

Now she had moved to toy with me. This was the height of it not even my sister toyed with me this way.

“You are going to regret doing what you just did,” I said, my voice a little calmer.

“Maybe.” She winked at me and then turned to look at the kitchen door, “I really have to go now. I bet your sister must be looking for me. Is there anything you want me to tell her?”

Without saying a word, I turned and began to storm off the yard, furious.

“Be careful. There’s a mold there.” I heard her say, but it was too late. I had already stepped on it and almost tripped but was able to hold myself up at the last second.

I looked up to see her giggling, but she stopped immediately when our eyes met. She turned and made a dash into the house. She had made a mockery of me, but that would be the one and only time.

With the anger still biting inside me, I turned and headed toward the garage, and Philip, the driver, began moving toward me. “I want to go alone.”
