"What's wrong?"

I can see the worry etched in her tone. I don't want to worry her, but this is my fault.

Her phone goes off, and she answers, looking straight at me. "Yeah. I’ll…okay… I'm coming, Xena."

She hangs up and grabs her bag, putting away the money. "That was Xena. Santi…”

"Let's go, Elena. I know… Niko called me."

We make it to the house off campus where my brother and they guys live. When Niko opens the door, it's a war zone. The place is trashed. My brother has gone ape shit."

"He's over there," Xavier says, pointing to the back patio. "We had to put him out there.

"He fucked up the TV,holmes," Ezekiel says, sweeping the pieces of glass from the cracked screen.

Xavier glances between me and Elena. "Is there something you want to tell me, Maxim?"

"I got nothing to say to you, Xavier."

"Xavier?" Elena warns.

"Are fucking my sister,ese?"

"Xavier?" Elena calls out again, getting between us.

I point my finger in Xavier's face. "I think you need to watch your mouth, ese.Don't disrespect your sister in front of me, eh.'' I clench my teeth.

"Hey,puto?" Santiago greets me from the back patio doorway.

His eyes are red, and he's shirtless and drunk.

"What's up,ese. I came to see what you're up to?"

He opens his arms wide with a bottle of tequila in his right hand. "What for?" He points to Elena. "You're too busy keeping my wife warm for me."

"I'm not your wife," Elena says.

My brother tilts his head back and laughs. "Is that what you still think?" He walks in, stumbling. "Come on, brother? Tell my wife our little secret."

"You're drunk,ese. You don't know what you're saying," I tell him.

He gets in my face. All eyes are on us.

My brother and I don't get along, but no one knows the real reason. Just us. A vow I broke. I betrayed him in his eyes.

"You didn't tell her the truth?''

I shake my head. "Don't do this now, Santiago. Not here. Not like this."

"How would you feel if I did it?"

I look over at Niko. "Get your guys; I need help putting him in the car." I look at Xavier. "I love your sister. Don't disrespect her like that again. Now, hand me the keys to the Rolls."

Xavier tosses me the keys, but I know he doesn't agree me being with Elena. He knows something doesn't add up.

"I'm not going," Santiago says in a hard tone.

I need to help my brother or lose him.
