I shifted in my seat, fighting the urge to run across the room and hug her. It was so good to see a familiar face in this hellhole.

Willa lifted her hand and waved before taking the seat opposite from me. Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad with a friendly face here.

I drew in a deep breath. Another scent hit me, and it wasn’t Lincoln’s. Where Lincoln had an earthy pine scent, this one was different. It was pine needles and dew.

My gaze snapped from Willa to the gorgeous man taking a seat next to her. Sawyer had the same pale-blue eyes as Lincoln, but his hair was a chocolate brown. Lincoln was in shape, but Sawyer was ripped.

I pressed my knees together and fidgeted in my seat. I adjusted my shirt as the collar became too tight.

I stared at Sawyer, unable to tear my gaze away from him. He was magnificent. Lincoln squeezed my thigh, and I turned my focus to him.

There was a look on his face, like he knew exactly what was happening. It couldn’t be. There was no way.

But as I shifted my attention back to Sawyer, there was no denying the desire or the flutter in my belly as my soul connected to Sawyer’s. Somehow LincolnandSawyer were my soulmates, but Lincoln was the only one I would ever be able to have.

A piece of me—a piece of all of us—would always be missing.

I’d heard horror stories about mates dying of broken hearts because they’d lost their other half. I didn’t know how this was going to affect Lincoln, Sawyer, and me, but I had a bad feeling we were going to find out.

I shuddered as Alpha Dane took a seat at the head of the table.

Lincoln, Sawyer, and I belonged together, but the alpha’s rules rang in my ears. You will only breed with Lincoln. No one else. Only him.

It could never happen. I could never be with both of them.

Sitting through dinner wasgoing to be torture. I refused to look at Sawyer. But I could feel him across from me.

His and Lincoln’s energy swirled around me. Warmth bloomed in me despite the situation.

Lincoln kept his hand on my thigh. It helped a little, but what I really needed was both of them touching me. Both of them to love me.

Alpha Dane hit the table, rattling the place settings and wineglasses.

I startled and snapped my attention to him.

He grinned and lifted one brow. “Well, don’t be shy. Help yourself. You’ll need your strength.”

I darted my gaze to the spread on the center of the table. My stomach rumbled. Apparently, my appetite had returned.

I reached across, my hands trembling as I pulled some veggies and pot roast onto my plate. I looked for a bottle of ketchup. Mydad and I always put ketchup on our pot roast. It drove my mom crazy.

The condiment wasn’t in sight, and I wasn’t going to ask for it. I picked up my fork and dug in.

Alpha Dane nodded his head in approval. “Good. I expect the breeding to go well. Once these two have pups in their bellies, I will bring in new women for the both of you.”

Sawyer dropped his fork onto his plate and slammed a fist on the table. “Dad, this is getting ridiculous.”

Alpha Dane’s eyes narrowed into tiny slits, and a deep red colored his cheeks as he turned his angry glare on Sawyer. “Ridiculous? Our goddess has abandoned us. Look what she let happen to your mother and sister.”

Sawyer looked down at his plate. “Luna cannot control everything.”

Alpha Dane stood so fast that his chair flipped backwards and clattered against the floor.

I shuddered and cowered toward Lincoln as the alpha stormed at Sawyer.

Lincoln gripped my thigh almost to the point of pain.
