“They’ve given as much time as they can. They want to put the house up for sale. You have between now and when it sells. I’m sorry, Olivia.”
I ask a few more questions, but eventually I realize it’s futile. I thank the lawyer for his time anyway and hang up. I take a deep breath, trying to settle my nerves.It’s okay, Olivia, I remind myself. Just because they’re putting the house up for sale doesn’t mean it will sell instantly. I could still have time. It’s a pretty dilapidated old house, after all. I can’t imagine people scrambling to buy it.
But it does give me all the more reason to up my saving.
