Holy hell.

I like having an unobstructed view of him.

Shamelessly, I drink in every inch of him. All the while trying to convince myself I shouldn’t.

But his shorts are hanging low on his hips, and his shirt is skintight, highlighting every muscle, every last inch of him.

I picture pressing myself against his muscled back and breathing him in.

Then I see myself pulling the shirt up over his head. Running my tongue and lips all over what I’m sure is a gorgeous chiseled chest.

Goddamn it, Danielle. It doesn’t matter how attracted you are. It’s been too long since you’ve had a meaningful sex. And that doesn’t mean you have to do the owner of the ranch, of all people. Find someone else, scratch that itch, and move on.

Only problem is that I have the sinking feeling that no one else will do.

Adrian says something to the person on the other side of the door and glances over at me. When he’s done, he walks back over to me and offers an apologetic smile. “I’ve got to go. Duty calls.”

“Can I get you a drink for the road?”

Adrian’s smile is genuine. “Sure.”

I hurry over to the fridge, pick the first bottle my eyes land on, and dart back over to him.

When our fingers brush, a jolt of electricity races up my arm, and I exhale, sharply. I lift my gaze up to his. He’s got a peculiar look on his face.

We stand there staring at each other for longer than I’d like to admit.

All too soon, he withdraws his hand and leaves.

Through the thin slit in the curtain, I watch him and tell myself to get over it.

Adrian Steele is not going to satisfy your itch. He can’t. Make your peace with it and move on.

Jeez.

I fan myself as I begin to pace the entire length of the cabin, wishing Savannah was here with me.

Chapter Five: Adrian

When I step out of my office, I make a beeline for Maureen, a headache already pounding in the back of my skull. I stop at the main desk and wait for her to finish typing.

Out of the corner of my eye, I see a flash of movement. Danielle steps into the main cabin, her entire face shiny with sweat.

Even with her dark hair piled into a bun on top of her head, and wearing a pair of faded old shorts, she is the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen.

I haven’t been able to stop sneaking glances at her since I spotted her a few hours earlier, when the fresh group of guests arrived.

Everything from her tall and lithe figure to the dimples on her cheek calls out to me.

In my line of work, I’ve come across thousands of guests, many of them attractive. But not a single one of them holds a candle to Danielle.

She’s gorgeous without even trying.

And I can’t tell if it’s because of the way she carries herself, or if it’s because of the fire in her hazel eyes.

All I know is that when I step away from the main desk, and she brushes past me, I have to resist the urge to pull her to me.

She smells so good. I wonder what perfume she's wearing. I want to bury my face in her hair. I want to hold her to me and inhale until the rest of the world melts away.
