Hilda was a force to be reckoned with when organizing events and had an uncanny ability to turn any gathering into a memorable experience.

"Hilda," I began. "Elizabeth and I will be holding an engagement party here in two weeks, and I want it to be exceptional. I'm leaving the planning in your capable hands. You have access to my accounts. If there’s anything else that you need, please let me know."

She nodded, her blue eyes sparkling with excitement.

"Don't worry, Mr. Hartman, I will make sure it is a party to remember. I already have some ideas and will get started planning immediately."

I smiled at her enthusiasm. Hilda was a true professional, and I completely trusted her abilities.

"Thank you, Hilda. I knew I could count on you."

With that settled, I stepped out of the house, feeling relieved that the party planning was in capable hands.

I approached the Rolls-Royce waiting for me, and David, my driver, was behind the wheel.

"Did you need anything else before we head into New Jersey, sir?" David asked as I got into the car.

"I’m all set, thank you, David. Let's go."

David expertly navigated the streets and traffic of the city as we made our way out of Manhattan through the Holland Tunnel towards New Jersey.

The sun began to dip below the horizon, casting a warm, golden glow over the city. It was a beautiful view, but my thoughts were consumed with the evening's events.

As we neared Elizabeth's parents' house, my heart raced. I couldn't help but envision making a good first impression on her parents.

I hoped the bottle of wine would help make a positive impact.

As the Rolls-Royce pulled up in front of Elizabeth's parents' house, my heart raced with excitement and nervousness.

Elizabeth stepped out of the house and headed towards me in the driveway. She had chosen a casual yet charming outfit — a pair of well-fitted jeans and a soft, baby-blue sweater that brought out the color of her eyes.

She was effortlessly beautiful, and I couldn't help but admire her as she stopped at the curb to greet me.

"Hey there," Elizabeth said warmly as she approached the car. "You clean up nice,“ she continued with a smirk.

I chuckled and gave her a quick kiss.

"You look stunning, as always."

David drove away to take a break and grab dinner while we spent time with Elizabeth's family. I told him I’d call him when it was time to return later this evening.

Before we could enter the house, I quickly shared my news.

"Since you told your parents that we would have an engagement party in two weeks, I spoke to my Hilda, and she has been given directions to start planning one to hold in my home. I would hire her as a professional party planner if she weren't my housekeeper. You have nothing to be worried about.”

“Oh, Alexander, thank you!”

Elizabeth sounded relieved and amazed as she hugged and kissed me. Pulling back, we shared a look of anticipation, then entered her parents' house.

Elizabeth introduced me to her parents, and I presented her mother with the bottle of wine I had brought as a gift.

Her father, retired Lt.Col. Bryce Parker, had a robust and stoic presence, while her mother, Barbara, exuded warmth and grace. I couldn't help but remark.

"I can see where Elizabeth gets her good looks from."

Barbara blushed and laughed lightly, her eyes crinkling at the corners.

"Oh, you flatterer, Alexander. You're too kind."
