"It's the best feeling in the world."

We changed into our pajamas and climbed into bed, wrapped in each other's arms. As we lay there, basking in the glow of our special day, Elizabeth whispered, "I can't wait to see what our future holds."

I smiled and kissed her, knowing our journey was beginning. With our families by our side, there was nothing we couldn't face together.

As we drifted off to sleep, I couldn't help but feel immensely grateful for the love and support that surrounded us on this beautiful night.

5:38 a.m.

The first rays of dawn painted streaks of gold across the sky, and I could hear the soft chirping of birds outside our window.

As I stirred awake, Elizabeth's comforting warmth made me smile. We’d been engaged for a day, and it still felt like a dream.

But that dream was interrupted by a distinct sound, a mechanical hum that grew louder and closer by the second.

I glanced at the clock – it was too early for the commotion. Then, I realized the noise: helicopter blades cutting through the morning air.

I shot out of bed and rushed to the window. Sure enough, a helicopter was descending onto the sprawling lawn of my family estate.

It starkly contrasted the tranquil scene we’d enjoyed moments earlier.

Elizabeth joined me by the window, her expression a mix of curiosity and concern. "Who could it be at this hour?"

As the helicopter touched down gracefully, I recognized it as my aunt’s private chopper. I’d invited her and my cousins to stay for a few days after the engagement, so I hadn't expected them to leave so soon.

Elizabeth and I quickly dressed and went downstairs to see them off.

"Good morning, Aunt Karen," I said as I hugged her. "I didn't expect you to leave so soon."

She smiled, her eyes filled with warmth. "Darling, the boys are eager to get back to Switzerland. They can’t stay away from school for too long, you know how it is. Besides, I thought we'd give you two some privacy."

It was clear that Elizabeth was charmed by my aunt’s grace and poise. After a few more minutes of conversation, she said they needed to take off.

They were heading to our family's private hangar to catch her private jet back to Switzerland.

As we stepped outside to see them off, I couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness. It was a bittersweet moment to say goodbye to my aunt so soon.

Elizabeth's parents were also preparing to leave, and they would be taking a second helicopter to the same hangar to catch a jet to New Jersey.

The aircraft barely touched down before my soon-to-be father-in-law emerged from the house with a smile.

"Alexander, Elizabeth, it's been wonderful," he said warmly, shaking my hand.

I nodded and agreed, grateful for their presence at our engagement party. Elizabeth hugged her parents tightly, her eyes glistening with tears.

"Thank you for everything, Mom and Dad. We'll come visit soon."

We shared heartfelt farewells, and they boarded, their excitement to ride in the helicopter apparent in their huge smiles.

Elizabeth and I were left on the lawn, watching as the aircraft ascended into the sky.

It was a moment filled with mixed emotions – happiness for the love and support of our families and a touch of sadness as they departed.

Once the helicopter had disappeared from view, Elizabeth and I made our way back into the house, our hearts heavy with the weight of their absence.

The house felt strangely quiet now, devoid of the laughter and chatter that had filled it just a few hours ago.

As we entered the kitchen, we were greeted by one of the maids. She was bustling about, tidying up the breakfast dishes.
